#1edgelettSep 14, 2004 7:52:58 | Can someone please let me know if Gnomes in DLCS are meant to havelow light vision?? Under the description for regular Gnomes in DLCS it doesn't mention it, but it DOES under the "MadGnomes" description. Since out DM is new to Dragonlance he's not sure if regular gnomes are meant to have low light vision or not. I think they do. Thanks |

Under the description for regular Gnomes in DLCS it doesn't mention it, but it DOES under the "Mad/Tinker Gnomes" description. Since out DM is new to Dragonlance he's not sure if regular gnomes are meant to have darkvision or not. I think they do. Gnomes (neither tinker nor mad) in Dragonlance do not have darkvision. Nor is there a mention of Darkvision for Mad gnomes in the DLCS sidebar. |
#4edgelettSep 14, 2004 16:58:14 | What I meant was under the Mad Gnomes side bar it says "Mad gnomes share all the racial traits as ordinary gnomes, except as follows" - as gnomes in the PHB have low light vision then consequently so do mad gnomes. HOWEVER under the description for regular gnomes in Dragonlance, it does NOT contain the sentence "gnomes share all the racial traits as ordinary gnomes, except as follows", which therefore makes the assumption dragonlance gnomes do NOT have low light vision - are they meant to??? |

I think the problem with how you are looking at this is that you are thinking that the Tinker Gnome somehow shares traits with the regular D&D gnome. They do not. Thus, you would NOT use the D&D gnome for anything involving Dragonlance whatsoever. References of the Mad gnome sharing traits with the normal gnomes means that Mad gnomes share traits with the Tinker gnome. |

"Ordinary" gnomes in this case refers to Tinker gnomes, which means no low-light vision for either branch of gnome on Krynn. Note how this is different from some of the Krynnish elf entries, where it specifically refers to the PHB. |

Some of the playters in my campaign argued that the darkvision they get from elvensight makes them a little too powerful for a EL 0 race. To handle that to I took away rapier as a racial weapon. |
