#1brimstoneSep 17, 2004 9:55:57 | Hey folks...for those that are interested, the second version of my unofficial errata for the DLCS is now up: http://www.dl3e.com/fan/rules/12016.aspx I know I've talked about the unofficial errata for the AoM book, but I've decided not to release that like this. Cam Banks started a group of threads over at the DragonlanceForums.com specifically for Sovereign Press errata compilation, so I just added my errata there (it's an extremely helpful group of threads...especially the one for Key of Destiny). http://www.dragonlanceforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=10 Thanks! |
#2zombiegleemaxSep 17, 2004 10:26:25 | Pardon me, I dont want to sound rude or anything but if the errata is unoffical, why would we want to utilize it? |
#3brimstoneSep 17, 2004 10:29:46 | Pardon me, I dont want to sound rude or anything but if the errata is unoffical, why would we want to utilize it? Because it's all we've got...since WotC refuses to make one. You can look at it, and decide for yourself if it's useful or not...don't discount it simply because it's "unofficial." |
#4zombiegleemaxSep 17, 2004 10:34:35 | Is that a WOTC decesion or a mutual one needed between them and Sov Press? |
#5brimstoneSep 17, 2004 10:40:29 | Is that a WOTC decesion or a mutual one needed between them and Sov Press? It is WotC's book, it is their responsibility for making an errata (who they choose to make it would most likely be someone of SPs choosing...but it's their job to get the ball rolling). I had this errata finished before the book even hit the shelves last year...and throughout the year, many people have sent me e-mails with questions and updates and things that I missed (even in my own errata ). And I incorporated all those into this version. It's a "fan" product, no doubt...but that shouldn't change the fact that it can be helpful. |
#6zombiegleemaxSep 17, 2004 12:01:02 | Brimmy, why dont you submit it and see if it can get published? |
#7brimstoneSep 17, 2004 12:09:02 | Brimmy, why dont you submit it and see if it can get published? I don't think it works that way, unfortunately. Besides, they're aware of its existance, I'm sure if they wanted it (or something like it) they'd contact me. |
#8zombiegleemaxSep 17, 2004 13:23:03 | Brimmy, dearest Brimmy, are you not aware of the adage that goes, "Chance favors the prepared mind?" All they can do is tell you no and you are in no different situation. |
#9brimstoneSep 17, 2004 13:49:23 | Brimmy, dearest Brimmy, are you not aware of the adage that goes, "Chance favors the prepared mind?" All they can do is tell you no and you are in no different situation. I guess I'm really just not all that concerned about whether it's official or not. It's out there, people can use it as necessary if they feel so inclined...that's good enough for me. |
#10zombiegleemaxSep 17, 2004 13:54:04 | Thou art indeed most wonderously fairly generous Brimmy |
#11brimstoneSep 17, 2004 14:22:37 | Thou art indeed most wonderously fairly generous Brimmy HA! No, I think I'm just realistic on the fact that WotC would never want it...it's far to biased in trying to keep continuity and avoiding retcons. :D |
#12zombiegleemaxSep 17, 2004 14:29:45 | that is something that could get you into trouble. |
#13brimstoneSep 17, 2004 14:39:16 | that is something that could get you into trouble. No it won't. |
#14zombiegleemaxSep 17, 2004 15:14:11 | Not everybody admires when a mistake they have made is pointed out to them. |
#15brimstoneSep 17, 2004 15:26:35 | Not everybody admires when a mistake they have made is pointed out to them. Well...uh...tough? I worked on that book too, ya know. Anyway...hurt feelings or not, it is still not going to "get me into trouble." |
#16kipper_snifferdoo_02Sep 17, 2004 16:40:12 | Thanks for the hard work Brim. It is much appreciated. Now I have to see about getting the index I did for the DLCS posted... |
#17brimstoneSep 20, 2004 9:54:34 | Thanks for the hard work Brim. It is much appreciated. Yes! That'd be an excellent addition to the Nexus! (I know I'd use it) |
#18zombiegleemaxSep 20, 2004 11:30:57 | Thank You Easter Brimstone! |
#19brimstoneSep 20, 2004 17:11:59 | Thank You Easter Brimstone! |
#20zombiegleemaxSep 21, 2004 5:55:26 | I have been waiting for this errata.. Oh... I forgot something.. Thank you Brimstone! :invasion: EDIT: I just found one errata.. |
#21brimstoneSep 22, 2004 16:14:08 | EDIT: I just found one errata.. Do you mean you've got a change for me? |
#22quentingeorgeSep 23, 2004 1:47:59 | Brimstone, did you work out a solution to the date for Justarius' death/Palin's Test/Gilthas becoming Speaker? |
#23brimstoneSep 23, 2004 15:03:20 | No, I couldn't come up with a satisfactory answer. Even with Uziel's help. There's no proof that it's wrong (since Jenna does admit she hasn't seen or heard from her father for quite some time...) So, I just chose to ignore it, for now. Perhaps on a later version? |
#24quentingeorgeSep 24, 2004 2:24:07 | Well, that leaves the question while Dalamar waited a year to tell anyone that Justarius died on his little mission to Storm's Keep...and why no other wizards wondered that he returned alone?! Dalamar doesn't sound like someone to keep such a thing secret, especially since Justarius' death elevated him to Head of the Conclave. (Wouldn't he grab this as early as possible?) |
#25brimstoneSep 24, 2004 11:26:31 | Well, that leaves the question while Dalamar waited a year to tell anyone that Justarius died on his little mission to Storm's Keep...and why no other wizards wondered that he returned alone?! Most likely. The problem was, I just didn't have the right answer for it. (at least not one that would satisfy everyone) Perhaps the right thing to do would have just been to point out the discrepency and let people deal with it as they see fit. |
