#1zombiegleemaxSep 20, 2004 20:03:31 | I decided to put this up before I forgot about it, my group is doing pretty well, and have given me MANY MANY laughs, so I decided that I should post it up here so hopefully someone else gets a laugh from it too. CHARACTERS Seifer: Civilized Human; Chaotic Neutral Monk; Worships Sirrion. Thrandul: Qualinesti Elf; Neutral Good Ranger; Worships Chislev. Loomis: Civilized Human; Neutral Sorcerer; Does not worship a god at the moment. Elico: Daewar(Fatherless) Dwarf; Chaotic Neutral Barbarian; Worships Reorx. I will post the histories of the characters as I receive/make them up for the players seeing as I was handed the job since I'm the DM and know most about Dragonlance(Grr :P) Here is where it starts. The characters decided that they wanted to already know each other. The characters begin play walking around Pashin as they happened to run into the Kender male and female child being harassed by Hogart(pretty sure that's right) and his men. All of the characters except for Thrandul decide that they want to let the men do their job, because they are quite sure that the female child obviously stole the gold from the man, but Thrandul after questioning Hogart opens fire, and the group beings friends decide to join in to even the odds. They beat the pulp out of Hogart and his men, as they crawl away the Kender graciously thanks the group (and unfortunately I didn't think about him "borrowing" anything) and tells them that if they ever need his help to find him at his house. On their way to the Kenders house, they continue hearing rumors about the Herald being in town, so they decide to investigate and find out what all the fuss is about. After the riot, the group begins questioning the Herald about the key. He tells them all he knows about it and they decide before journeying out to the camp, that they want to get a nice nights rest. Elico, being the outsider of the group decided that he wanted to sleep infront of the tavern and didn't want to pay any steel to get a nice bed. When he wakes up, he realizes his shield is missing and decides to find as much information about it that he can. He finds out that it is probably being held in a camp to the west of town. The group decides to investigate this camp (they forgot that the other camp was in the same direction). When they get there, Loomis decided that he wanted to cast Burning Hands in the general direction of the camp, and me being the lenient DM decided to let him, the other characters didn't think it was such a good idea so they tried to get his attention by 1)Throwing a rock at him, 2)Kicking him, and 3)Hitting him with a swords hilt. Although bruised, Loomis still managed to cast the spell and burnt 3 of the tents. By this time, the other three were running as fast as they could away from Loomis. As Loomis turns around to find his friends, he notices that a good amount of people are coming out of the other tents, he begins to run also, but unfortunately for him, he didn't get away fast enough and they caught him. When the group arrived back in Pashin (excluding Loomis) they realized that he was missing and decided to go back to get the "stupid mage". When they arrived within eyesight of the camp, they noticed that the bonfire had been replaced with a huge pole, and they could see a figure tied to it--the stereotypical witch burning *insert evil DM laughter here*--Thrandul decided to shoot an arrow and try to hit the rope(and once again me being the lenient DM who is all for innovative ideas) let him, and he hit it. Loomis falls off of the pole and recomposes himself. After some pillaging and trickery they found the musical box and some other treasures. They go back to town and want to get another good nights sleep. And this time, Loomis and Thrandus decide to sleep outside of the Inn for some unknown reason--well, I decided that I wanted to spice things up a bit more and rolled a random encounter which just happened to be the Drunken Ogre-- Loomis wakes up with a start as he is grabbed by the Ogre and he punches him. A fight ensues including the Ogre, Loomis, and Thrandul, and not long after the Dark Knights arrive. Loomis, was already knocked out by the large Ogre, and Thrandul decided to resist arrest by the three Dark Knights. Meanwhile, in the Inn, Seifer wakes up after hearing Loomis' screams for him. Seifer decides to wake up Elico, which cost him time and they don't arrive at the fight until both of their friends have been taken away by the Dark Knights. ((And that is where we left off because one character said he wanted to attack a Dark Knight, right inside the Dark Knight conclave. I decided to give him an extra week to decide)) Tomorrow we start Session 3 of the Key of Destiny. I'll write in it sometime afterwards. Hope you enjoyed so far |
#2daedavias_dupSep 20, 2004 20:22:07 | How exactly did you get a CN Monk? I suppose ex-monk would be a better bet, as a monk MUST be lawful. |
#3zombiegleemaxSep 21, 2004 5:35:17 | Thanks for pointing that out! As I typed it up I thought "There has to be something wrong with that" and left it at that. Looks like we'll be getting a new lawful character in our group this week. :P |
#4NivedSep 21, 2004 11:38:54 | Sound like you have a good start. And don't be surprised that they want ot fight against the dark knights. It's hard for players to understand how prison can move the story ahead. |

Looks like we'll be getting a new lawful character in our group this week. :P I was thinking that maybe you had altered the class a little to fit the needs of the player. Oh well, glad I could be of assistance. |
#6MilesSep 22, 2004 11:44:28 | I'm glad to know that my group is not the only one comprised of mostly Neutral characters. Miles. |
#7davenSep 22, 2004 11:50:06 | Instead in my group I put the limitation of being good. I think it is an adventure for good characters, but I am curious if it does work good even with neutral ones. Tell me, tell me... |
