Elven monks.

Sep 22, 2004 15:05:17 I am kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. Now I remember reading in one of the splatbooks that elves make good monks because they are so long lived.

My problem is that most of the Krynn elves have no civilization left; they are living like bums. Where then do I find a good background for an elven monk ?

Simple enough.

The War of Souls caused many elves to become refugees. They sought shelter wherever they could. Some may have sought refuge in the monastaries of Majere.

You could even say that some Silvanesti who were outside of the shield realized that they couldn't go back home, so they went to live with some monks.

Other elves were disenfranchised with elven life in ages past, and sought the life of a monk to escape the outside world.

Those are just a few quick ideas. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure if there are any official listings anywhere, but I would think anyplace not too close to a city. Maybe some remote place off a trade route. Somewhere close enough that they can be of aid to those in need, yet have the isolation that they enjoy for quite contemplation. I hope that's vague enough for you. ;)
