#2wolffenjugend_dupSep 23, 2004 10:45:30 | YAY! They're finally going to re-do the classic DL series!!! |
#3zombiegleemaxSep 23, 2004 10:51:08 | ENWorld - Are any future DL minis planned for the D&D line of minatures other than Mina. Specifically, I'd like to ask if there will be any more draconians? If they actually do this I hope they do some sort of boxed set with all the minis instead of having them be in the random packs. I still haven't gotten a Kapak or Soth mini. |
#4talinthasSep 23, 2004 11:55:35 | yeah, they announced the classics remake at gencon. three books, like the KoD set. I'll bet this is why cam can't post the rest of his conversions. |
#5wolffenjugend_dupSep 23, 2004 13:21:18 | Cool! Kapaks are easy to get off Ebay (and not expensive either). I have around 15 of them (and 30-something Baaz!). I'd rather see bozaks, sivaks, and auraks before the Heroes of the Lance. Hmmm, maybe they're holding off the DL minis to coincide with the classic series... |
#6talinthasSep 23, 2004 13:36:58 | doubt it. those aren't official wotc products. the minis that have come out now came specifically in support of the DLCS and A&A, both wotc books. though lord soth is kinda surprising. hmm. I don't think the other dracs will come out, because their value in the skirmish game is very limited. you can't really emulate the sivak or aurak death throes in the minis game. As such, they probably won't come out. |
#7brimstoneSep 23, 2004 15:34:41 | What about Margaret mentioning that she and Tracy are in talks for a possible new DL trilogy. Like Jamie said, "that's always good news." I suppose that probably very preliminary...but I'll keep my ears open and my fingers crossed. |
#8wolffenjugend_dupSep 23, 2004 19:43:42 | doubt it. those aren't official wotc products. the minis that have come out now came specifically in support of the DLCS and A&A, both wotc books. Huh? I dunno what you're talking about. DLCS isn't a WotC book, it's Sovereign Press. There is going to be a remake of the DL classics trilogy, so I dunno how that can't be the perfect opportunity for Heroes minis. I think it's a pretty safe bet that the other dracs will come out at some point in time. The only question is when. |
#9NivedSep 23, 2004 19:57:35 | Huh? I dunno what you're talking about. DLCS isn't a WotC book, it's Sovereign Press. Incorrect. The Dragonlance Campaign Setting was published by Wizards of the Coast. All other Dragonlance Gaming Material published since has been published by Sovereign Press. Did many of the people that worked on the DLCS work for Sovereign as well? Yes, but that's not the point, you will not find the words 'Sovereign Press' anywhere on the DLCS Sovereign Press Products The Dragonlance Campaign Setting |
#10DragonhelmSep 23, 2004 20:39:41 | The way the licensing deal works out, the DLCS is published by WotC and Sovereign Press produces all other DL gaming products. The Sovereign Press guys did indeed write the DLCS with the guys at WotC. |
#11wolffenjugend_dupSep 24, 2004 8:13:43 | Ah, ok. I don't see how that makes it any more/less "official" though. |
#12cam_banksSep 24, 2004 8:47:21 | Ah, ok. I don't see how that makes it any more/less "official" though. Licensed properties are official, but the contents aren't as likely to generate any further interest by WOTC in making miniatures unless those miniatures tie into novels or products that WOTC publishes. Mina's featured in Amber & Ashes, the draconians and Lord Soth are Dragonlance icons. In other words, you're more likely to see a WOTC miniature of Lord Ausric Krell (originally from Age of Mortals) now that he's in a published novel than, say, Sindra the red dragonspawn from Key of Destiny. Cheers, Cam |
#13zombiegleemaxSep 24, 2004 10:54:55 | Will DL 11 Dragons of Glory, also be re-done? |
#14talinthasSep 24, 2004 12:13:13 | the rules for running the war of the lance are presented in the WotL hardback, so i don't think they're gonna show up in the modules. |
#15cam_banksSep 24, 2004 12:39:52 | the rules for running the war of the lance are presented in the WotL hardback, so i don't think they're gonna show up in the modules. The WOTL sourcebook does not contain mass combat rules, but we figured everybody had their favorites as it was (either the Miniatures Handbook rules, the rules from Cry Havoc! or Fields of Blood, a homebrew set, the OGL set from Mongoose Publishing, etc) so we just included outlines, unit stats, etc etc ready to plug into whatever rules you prefer. DL11 was a wargame simulation with counters and a map of Ansalon, so it's not really part of the original module run, so to speak. What's more likely to be covered is DL1-4, DL6-10, DL12-14. Cheers, Cam |
#16zombiegleemaxSep 24, 2004 12:40:59 | If they actually do this I hope they do some sort of boxed set with all the minis instead of having them be in the random packs. I still haven't gotten a Kapak or Soth mini. I have a few Kapaks and I have Lord Soth as well. Yep, for mass combat I utilize the Miniatures Handbook; Fields of Blood is not bad either as a mass combat source, some say it is better than the MHB. ~~~ |
#17zombiegleemaxSep 28, 2004 16:01:23 | I for one can hardly wait for the new old DL classic modules to appear! Oh happy day! |
