#1zombiegleemaxSep 27, 2004 12:15:13 | All right then. Let's get me a list going y'all. As you know by now, I was able to get lupins (my favorite PC race) updated to 3.5 in the pages of Dragon. That, I hope, made most of you happy. Now, I certainly don't want to step on the toes of Havard or the guys over at the Vaults of Pandius, but I'm in a unique position to exert a small amount of influence over Known World (okay fine, Mystara) content that appears in D&D's official support magazine. With that caveat in mind, what PC races from the Known World would you like to see updated to 3.5 in the pages of Dragon? Now, this is no guarantee that any of the races on this list will actually make it into print, but I just want to know what you're interested in seeing. Add to this list: -Lupin (Dragon #325) -Rakasta (as catfolk, Miniatures Handbook) -Phanaton -Diabolus -Aranea (Monster Manual) - ? |

#3havardSep 27, 2004 14:56:17 | Hi Mike, don't worry about stepping on anyones toes. We don't take ourselves that seriously here Interesting proposal, by the way. Hmmm...Mystara has so many interesting races. I think all of the races from the PC series could be interesting. Many of them have been done though. One race I like, though perhaps not that well known is the Faenare from PC3 -Top Balista. For those who aren't familiar with the race, the Faenare are basically a good version of Harpies (better looking too), and known for their magical songs (Favored Class Bard would be my guess). They also have the potential of adding a 'Windsinger' PrC in the article if you decide to go for that Mike. If you want to do something less weird, and perhaps more Mystaran, maybe the Shadowelves could make an interesting race? They are pretty standard in terms of racial stats though, so you'd need to do something else to make the article interesting, perhaps include some more about SE society from Gaz13 and perhaps the stats for the Skinwing (flying mounts). Hmm...what else, maybe the Kubitts from the Hollow World? Or the Pegataur? Just tossing out some random ideas here... HÃ¥vard |

#7zombiegleemaxSep 27, 2004 15:45:15 | As a Creature-Cruciblist, I would like to see: - Fey races: Pooka, Sidhe, Woodrakes (of course), Pixies & Sprites. - Centaurs. - Fauns (I think they're rather Mystaran, aren't they?). - Tritons and Merrow. |
#8stanlesSep 27, 2004 16:17:07 | As a Creature-Cruciblist, I would like to see: Pixies (Sprite), Nixies (Sprite), Centaurs and Tritons (as well as Aranea) all got a go in Savage Species |
#9HuginSep 27, 2004 17:41:20 | I definately have to second the pooka, sidhe, and faun, but all the suggestions so far are great. What I'd like to see added to list myself though is the Hutaakans (if they haven't been offical done already of course). |
#10zombiegleemaxSep 28, 2004 7:53:24 | Pixies (Sprite), Nixies (Sprite), Centaurs and Tritons (as well as Aranea) all got a go in Savage Species "Savage Species"? What's that? |
#11stanlesSep 28, 2004 8:23:34 | "Savage Species"? What's that? Savagr Species is a Wizards hardcover release for playing monstrous characters. It contains other races which could be played in Mystara for ages such as harpies and treants. and you can even give an athach a go now. |
#12havardSep 28, 2004 9:31:19 | As a Creature-Cruciblist, I would like to see: Satyrs are included in Deities and Demigods in the Greek Pantheon chapter. They are LA+3 creatures though. We could to create the Faun as a lesser LA+0 race.... Savagr Species is a Wizards hardcover release for playing monstrous characters. It contains other races which could be played in Mystara for ages such as harpies and treants. and you can even give an athach a go now. Savage Species is for 3.0 only so far though. OTOH, 3.5 monster descriptions usually have rules for creating monsters as PCs. Not sure if the Atach has been converted to 3.5 yet though. Wasn't that in MM2? Havard |

Wasn't that in MM2? nah they're in MM1 so they've been brought up to 3.5, although the updated monster manual contains no information for playing them as characters |
