#1DragonhelmSep 29, 2004 14:31:18 | I just posted this on the DL.com boards, but I thought I'd see what opinions are here as well. I'm trying to gauge a bit on how important and how useful conversions from prior editions (AD&D 1e/2e and SAGA) are to you guys. For example, do you guys find the conversions of characters from Unsung Heroes or the various module pregenerated characters useful? Do you want to see magic items, monsters, etc. from prior materials converted that haven't been yet, or possibly won't be? Or are you more interested in newer materials, such as new characters, magic items, monsters, and role-playing articles? Also, do you find articles on how to incorporate materials from WotC books and third party books (i.e. Complete Book of Eldritch Might, Arcana Unearthed, etc.) useful? Or should there be a blend? I'd sort of like to know what everyone thinks about this. |

#3DragonhelmSep 29, 2004 17:29:31 | What is the purpose of the Nexus? Has it outlived its purpose now that 3.5 is out and so is the new edition of Dragonlance? The Nexus was originally the official Dragonlance gaming site, and was charged with the task of creating 3rd edition rules for Dragonlance. Long story short, much has changed since that time. The Nexus is now both the fan gaming materials as well as what used to be on Dragonlance.com. It is perhaps the largest site dedicated to Dragonlance fandom, having art, music, gaming, product info, and much more. On the gaming side of things, we don't do official DL gaming materials anymore (that's Sov. Press' job!), but we do fan rules. We're able to host not only variants to rules, but also new and original fan rules. We can also touch upon certain things that Sovereign Press can't, such as how to use materials from the Complete Book of Eldritch Might in Dragonlance. So there is most definitely a purpose for the Nexus still. I enjoy working on the site very much, and am glad that it provides a community service. |
