Cam Banks mentioned that there was some sort of dragon class or race within the Draconomicon that one of his players was using for the Age of Mortals campaign.

Yes, Cam and the player (my wife) worked to modify the Platinum Knight to work in Dragonlance (he's calling it Dragon Knight in his game).

Note that this is simply something they're house-ruling for a specific game, and not canon by any stretch.

Good morning Mr. Valentine. I would like to know if that is a PrC or a regular class ?

It's a PrC. It's somewhat paladin-like, but very dragon oriented.

One of my players has the Draconomicon; he actually brought it to a few sessions, although we have never really used it. I may actually take a close look at it now.

The character in question has a strong connection with dragons, after some early experiences in the campaign, and she's been chosen to bear the mantle of a dragon knight by powers she's yet to fully become aware of. I replaced the Dragonfriend feat prerequisite with Remove Dragonfear (from the DLCS) and instead of bonus spellcaster progression every other level (at 2nd, 4th, 6th etc) she casts spells as a mystic of half her class level, using the Dragon domain from the Draconomicon as required spells known, and Charisma as the associated ability score (instead of Wisdom, which is standard for mystics).

The end result is a kind of mystic dragon paladin, although as she's chaotic good she's not very paladin-like. And that's just fine.

Cheers,
Cam

How do you come up with these ideas ? I like how you tool things to fit your campaigns. I wish I was that creative.
