Oct 07, 2004 6:42:45 I am just new to the Dark Sun setting and have decided to play a Thri-kreen elemental cleric. I was very interested in the reference to the Kiltaktat in the Dark Sun 3e feats section on Athas.org. They are a group mostly of Thri-Kreen who hunt down knowledge with the intent to spread it. I thought this could be a good starting point for my new characters history and was just wondering if anyone knows anything else about the Kiltaktat?

Oct 07, 2004 8:20:29 Hence, Thri-Kreen of Athas is a complete book that describe the TK society and a part of the Thor-Kreen as well. It's a big book for a sole race. Nice to read.

You can go to svgames.com to grab a electronic copy. Rpgnow.com have it as well if I remember well. Only 5$.

And yes i will have to get the Thri-kreen of Athas download as soon as possible but i was wondering if someone could answer this for me. How can a Thri-Kreen be armed? I have a friend who said that he played a Thri-kreen and had the character carrying a two-handed weapon with its upper set of arms and a shield in each of the lower arms. Thats one two-handed weapon and two shields? Is that possible or not. I just thought it sounded a bit dubious. So how any weapons/shields can a Thri-Kreen carry. The same as any other two armed race, or double? If they can carry more weapons do they need any feats to accomplish this or not?

Actualy two questions. I was reading the Athas.org Dark Sun material and it says that a Thri-Kreen has different vocal cords any other races. Can they speak other languages then (i.e elven, common etc) or can they only understand they if they take that lauguage.

They can carry four weapons. They could carry multiple shields, but it wouldn't do them any good -- shield bonuses don't stack. Replace the Two-weapon fighting feat with Multi-weapon fighting (from MM).

As evidenced by the TK character in PP2, Thri-kreen can speak common ... with difficulty. Some rather odd sounds -- pops and clicks and the like -- make their way into their speech, but it is comprensible.
