#1baron_the_curseOct 09, 2004 10:08:02 | I got WoTL yesterday. The book looks great, packed with information, although I'm not thrilled with the recycled artwork. I might be wrong on this but I recall SP promising that their would be a fold-out map in this book. My copy did not include a map. What happened to the promised world map of Ansalon? |
#2daedavias_dupOct 09, 2004 10:11:51 | They never promised a fold-out map. They did say that instead of including one, they opted to have practically 90 pages of Geographical data that is chalk-full of maps. |

Please give us two maps. One complete map with all countrys and citys. ansd one politcical. Lets see wich areas conquer and control form which dragonarmys. |
#5brimstoneOct 11, 2004 10:58:27 | You are correct now it's all coming back to me. Oh, well, hope we get a map someday. Actually...long ago, they said they would have a fold out map for us in the WotL book. But even the fates are conspiring against us. If I remember the story right...the cartographer suffered a heart attack, and his house was struck by lighning (frying the computer that had the map stuff). So, needless to say, a fold out map was not ready when it came time to print, I guess. So...who knows when/if we'll ever get one. At this point...I'm hoping the Atlas they want to do includes the following: Fold out Map of PC Krynn Fold out Map of AC Krynn Fold out Map of SC Krynn The last two we should have had already...the first would just be a "nice-to-have." |
#6iltharanosOct 11, 2004 11:16:10 | At this point...I'm hoping the Atlas they want to do includes the following: What would be a true gem in the upcoming Atlas would be: A global map showing the respective sizes and locations of all currently known landmasses (Ansalon, Taladas, Tarmak, Dragon isles, Icereach, Spine of Taladas, Holakan islands) with all the unknown areas a sort of fuzzy faded white with suitable old-map style imagery like a stylized sea serpent or words like: Here there be dragons! It'd finally settle the question of exactly how large (or small) the world of Krynn really is and then I could have a cardiac arrest and be happy. :D |
#7true_blueOct 11, 2004 12:15:06 | I had a map made up a long time ago. I downloaded the Web Enhancement and put it together and then just had my girlfriend laminate it, she works at a copy center here at school. I've found college copy centers are a gem because even if you have to pay for stuff, its usually not that much. I use my map all the time and put cut outs of each peice in my DM binder also, so that I can write on them and add things I add in the campaign on the map. I have a laminated map for almost each world, or at least the ones I play in or DM in. Greyhawk is getting their map released in the issues of Dungeon. **edit** I second the motion for a global map. It would be nice to see more of the world of Krynn, especially with relation to Taladas. But I wonder if that would come out in the Taladas sourcebook... I sure hope they just wouldnt show Taladas, but not where it is next to Ansalon. |

I know they really wanted one in there but you can't fight mother nature. (Or you can't fool city hall. Or some other mixed metaphor.) |
