#1 zombiegleemax Oct 27, 2004 18:47:29	What level PC would be able to survive these encounters as I am giving my players a level boost so that I can make the campign more exciting Encounter 1: 4 BRB 4 ogres Encounter 2: 2 Ogre mages and a young adult blue dragon that enters when one of them dies or both are below half. Possible ally for PC: a young brass dragon, only for seconf fight Party has one fighter/knight, one wizard, a bard/fighter/ and a mystic. Thanks for any help.
#2 zombiegleemax Oct 27, 2004 20:40:12	OK the 4 Ogre 4th level Babarians are a CR 14 encounter. The 2 Ogre Magi are an CR 10 encounter alone, the young adult blue dragon is a CR 11 by itself put the two together and you have a CR 12.5. The young Brass Dragon is a CR 6. So if we go by CR then your 4 person party should be somewhere between 10th and 12th level depending upon magic and stats. If these are uber characters (ie. plenty o' magic and a total ability score mod of +13 or more) than I would put them at 10th level. If these are you're run of the mill adventures (ie. average magic based off level dependant starting cash per DMG and total ability score mod of between 8 and 11) I would make them 12th level as these encounters will surely tax them. That's just the general rule of thumb I go by. I hope this has been helpful, feel free to ask more if you need it. I am of course considering that both these encounters will take place before full rest, prayer, and memorization takes place. If you give them full rest, prayer, and memorization between the encounters I'd lower the party level by 2.
