#1jonny_reloadNov 20, 2004 3:21:41 | I've been looking for a while and I can't find any maps for Ravenloft. I really just need the Core map since thats where I plan to be running my campaign. Any help at all would be appreciated |

#3jonny_reloadNov 20, 2004 13:21:00 | There maps are EYE sores. They cram them with trees and scribbling all over the place! I just want clear and consistant maps (Like the ones that came with the 2nd edition boxed set). The ones on the Cartographer Society's site were just way to hard to read and print out or make modifications if you wanted to put in new towns on them. |
#4The_JesterNov 20, 2004 14:20:21 | Sorry, no maps like that. They're copyrighted still and unavailable online. The best chance you have is buying a copy of one of the campaign settings. If it has to be online try: http://www.svgames.com/downloads-wotc-adndraven.html which has .pdf copies of alot of Ravenloft products. EBay might also work if you need hard copies. Another option is going to the Mordent Cartographic Society (their maps maybe awkward to read in places but you can look close) and then try your hand at making yoru own maps. |
#5jonny_reloadNov 21, 2004 3:03:35 | Why in gods name do they keep copyrights on something they no longer produce?! What the hell, White Wolf is now producing Ravenloft, how the hell did they not get the rights for the MAPS to ravenloft?! (Which also pisses me off since there not putting maps for Ravenloft on their site) |
#6The_JesterNov 21, 2004 4:33:07 | They hold the copyright for everything they've published/bought since role-playing games started in the '70s. Why would they stop now just because they're not actually publishing something right at this very second? Just because they've licensed the setting (and technically the maps) from WotC doesn't mean they'll automatically update their site with a giant world map. And if ArtHaus published free maps how would they make money on any product bundled with a map or some kind of atlas if they gave it away? |
#7scipion_emilienDec 02, 2004 1:23:24 | Another question about map, what is the approximate dimensions of the domains. Hard to plan pc travel when you don t know if they will had long way or short one to travel... |
#8The_JesterDec 02, 2004 1:30:21 | Any size you want. Ravenloft is small. Real small. Like Switzerland. So the size is left blank to allow DMs to adjust it to whatever scale they wish. Of course, by not providing a base measure they don't tell you how much to adjust the population by to prevent there being miles and miles of empty space. The 3E maps on the inside covers have a scale of 25 miles per inch, more or less. Manipulate as you see fit. |
#9manindarknessDec 04, 2004 0:28:00 | Not exactly. Size is a touchy subject, as no-one seems to agree on which size the Land of Mists should be. The canon is that The Core's size is as large as you need, and not quite consistent. |
#10zombiegleemaxDec 05, 2004 19:07:38 | IMC the size of the core is roughtly 600 miles from north to south, about twice the size of Vorostokov. |
