#1zombiegleemaxNov 20, 2004 18:53:56 | Has anyone updated the published adventure, "The Eternal Boundary" to 3rd or 3.5 edition? I'm doing it myself now, but any help is naturally welcome. |
#2keravinFeb 21, 2005 7:49:18 | Not converted it yet, but I will be soon. At the moment I'm working on making it Post FW so I can start a campaign using the Planewalker setup. |
#3nedlumFeb 21, 2005 8:26:41 | Slight spoilers: How would that work, if the goal of the operation is to infiltrate the factions? You could have it be the guilds, but that doesn't seem to flow as well. |

#5sildatorakFeb 21, 2005 15:37:31 | I ran this in my campaign (pre-FW) recently and it went pretty well (despite players stretching out the information gathering stage to about twice as long as they needed). However, I didn't do a straight conversion of it because my party was slightly stronger and larger than recommended, so I had to upgrade the NPC's a few levels. I recommend figuring out what the DC's are for gather information checks and how many successful checks it will take to dig up the various tidbits in the adventure. My advice is just to use the sample NPC's from the DMG (though varying weapons/armor) for all of the NPC's that are detailed on the DM screen. All of the level 0 fighters would be level 1 warriors. For the NPC's that are in the actual adventure book, I recommend making your own conversions. I think the only one you can't do a pretty straightforward conversion of is Imogen (multiclass characters are such a pain to convert). IIRC, I just made her fighter 1/wizard 5/eldritch knight 2, but I believe that was at least a slight upgrade of power. My most notable bit was getting in her head and giving her Energy Substitution (Cold). She substituted most of her higher level fire spells with cold so that they could more easily deal with fire elementals. She kept a burning hands or two as fire, though, so that she had at least a little something that took advantage of the automatic maximization and enlargement of fire spells on the EPoF. I strongly recommend that you do not have her memorize a standard fireball since it will result in a likely total party kill. |
