I think the Warlock could work on the same principle of the gray-tapping Necromancer and the Shadow Mage, tapping those planes for power rather than plant life, which would explain why his powers work so very differently than the traditional spellcasters. And the Wu Jen draws his powers from the elements anyway, albeit in an arcane manner, and could be a type of derivative of what Qwith was assigned to work on before the Dead Lands Cataclysm. Also, that particular disaster would give both classes a shared point of origin in the campaign world! |

Ok, maybe not as much as I thought, they are pretty limited to what they can cast spontaneously and don't have much of a list to choose from. Maybe they would be ok then. I'm cool with Wu-Jen too, just re-write the oriental flavor text. |

In my campaign, we're trying to kill all the DKS except Hamanu, who got restarted a a low-level PC after RaFoaDK. He's trying to find new ways to hold onto his power, but kind of has a conscience now, hence the need for an alternative power source. And he hates Rajaat and his legacies so much he wanted to use a fresh alternative to arcane power, hence the sledgehammer approach of a Warlock/War Mind progression. |
