#1SysaneDec 11, 2004 12:41:08 | In the final battle with the fallen ogre titan, Grigolthan, it states in the actual encounter that he drinks a potion of invisibilty. In the appendix section under Grigolthans stats write up it states he can turn invisible at will (like a normal ogre mage). Whats the deal? Which is legitmate? Does he need to drink a potion to go invisible or can he do it at will? Help is appreciated. |

That combined with the staff's Vampiric Touch spell (with a caster level 17) made that the longer, and far more difficult end fights for my group when their party made it to the peak. Foolishly the three party members allowed themselves to be separated while they were taking down zombies. One Darkness spell (Houserule: Campaign uses 3.0 darkness, none of this shadowy illumination stuff) kept the party from being able to see each other (only one was actually in the darkness, the rest were simply on opposite sides of the globe). Then Grigolthan would hit one with the staff casting Vampiric Touch, (10' reach) step back 5 feet, he kept zombies between him and his enemies (they had trouble getting to him) and he would invis himself again. Wash, rince, repeat. Grigolthan eventually failed a save against Daze of all spells (rolled a 1) which gave the party enough time to surround him and unleash THE PAIN(tm)! Sindra, by comparrison dished out more damage but the party actually worked together and took her down a lot faster. |

I honestly think I'm going to need to bulk up the encounter with Sindra. I think my PCs will rip her apart. I'm either going to pump a few more levels of Barbarian into her, have her accompanied by 2 other dragonspawn, or a combination of the two. |
