#1zombiegleemaxDec 22, 2004 0:26:37 | Whatever became of the conflict that was developing between the Blessed Army of Ezra in Mordent and the Nevuchar Springs sect of the Church of Ezra. It was mentioned in the Heroes of Light sourcebook that a major conflict was brewing between the two sects because of the infiltration of the NS sect by some sort of terrible evil. Were there ever any actual revelations as to what that evil really is/was? It seemed like a great expansion of the material but I never was able to find anything else on it which is why I ask. |

So, according to his appearance this "evil creature" seems to be some kind of fiend. But, I donĀ“t think we will see more details to it, I strongly believe this plot is left to individual DMs to develop the way they want to. |

I was never a big fan of it because it undercut how I had been and was trying to present Raines and the Nevuchar sect -- as being dangerous and extreme, but not corrupt and possibly as right as any of the other sects. |

Afterall, the main obstacle to Mordent's Darklord is the church... In the first draft of that material that I saw, "Ezra's Army" was, as I recall, simply presented as the LG sect of the Church of Ezra -- not a splinter group within it, and it was fairly clear that it really was the LE sect that had been corrupted. I imposed a few changes. Namely, making it a splinter group (so as not to obliterate the existing LG sect we were already in the process of establishing -- something that ending up very nearly happening anyway), and making it much, much murkier as to who the corrupted party really was. |
