#1zombiegleemaxDec 23, 2004 13:39:01 | The new Map from Dungeon is pretty cool and it got me excited about Anondson's maps (on Canonfire) all over again. I'm having a hard time printing them out though. I downloaded the letter size versions but it will only let me print the uper left hand corner of each map. Granted, I am a complete doofus with a PC but this shouldn't be that hard. What am I doing wrong? Where has Eric Anondson been anyway? |
#2zombiegleemaxDec 23, 2004 13:56:16 | VD, I would need to know which program you are using to print from!? 1 thing you can always do if you are just looking to print out a page sized map, is make sure the maps are on your desktop. (for ease of directions) Open MS Word (I'm assuming you are not a "fight the power" MAC user) On the header menu, click INSERT. On the drop down menu from that scroll down to PICTURE. On the next pop down menu click FROM FILE. Now on the top of the box that just popped up is a symbol of a file folder with an arrow pointing up. Keep clicking that symbol until you get to your desktop. (the desktop is as far as you can go) Then inside the box, every file on your desktop will appear. Double click on the map and it should insert it into MS Word. Then, from inside MS word you can click and drag a corner of the pic to maximum its size to fit the whole page. PRINTING FROM WORD Once you have it sized as you like, you are ready to print. On the header menu, click FILE. On the drop down menu from that scroll down to PRINT. On the pop-up box hit the OK button, and you should have a page-sized map... ------------------------------------------------------ If your looking to piece together more pages, let me know and tell me which programs you have to print from. Probably easiest to just click the map file and let me know which program it opens up in. If you have Windows XP, I think the default is "Windows Image and Fax Viewer." The name of the program is usually on the very top left of your screen inside the blue bar. |
#3zombiegleemaxDec 23, 2004 14:02:28 | Also VD, you may wanna post this type of stuff on the Canonfire boards instead. You never know what these crazy Wiz_Os around here will deem off topic with a quick hit of the delete key! |
#4zombiegleemaxDec 23, 2004 15:30:28 | I'll try to clarify a bit. I opened the maps with winzip. I did not save them to my computer but opened them over the internet. As I said I downloaded the "letter size" version. By MS Word I'm assuming you mean Word Perfect (I have Office 2002). I'll give your suggestion a try and I'll move further discussion to Canonfire lest I raise the ire of the WizO. Back to my second question: Where's Anondson? BTW, please don't call me VD. It makes me feel icky. JK! |
#5gadodelDec 25, 2004 18:16:26 | 'vd' :p Roflmao. |
#6gm_wilDec 26, 2004 18:02:05 | 'vd' :p mwhahahahahahaha - me too. - |
#7gadodelDec 26, 2004 18:50:38 | 'Dain, you know we are just messin with ya. Really. :P |
#8zombiegleemaxDec 27, 2004 15:05:05 | 'Dain, you know we are just messin with ya. Really. :P I know. You know how gamers always hack on each other's character's names? I used Valkaun Dain for a long time and I put up with a ton of abuse from my friends, most of which I couldn't repeat here. While I don't think Abysslin intended to be hacking on my moniker I must say VD was never used and I do think it's pretty funny. The guy that used to do the most hacking on me died in a car wreck last February. He was one of my best friends and I'm sure he'd get a kick out of this one, not to mention kicking himself for not thinking of it sooner. We still sit around while we play and use all of his "-isms" when the situation presents itself. |
#9gadodelDec 27, 2004 17:02:25 | That's too bad about your friend. Though, how could he *not* think of 'VD'? |
#10gm_wilDec 27, 2004 18:00:30 | - *Toasts your buddy* I had an old halfing thief I called "Guano" before I realized what the hell it was outside of a fantasy name . . . DOH - |
#11gadodelDec 27, 2004 19:24:57 | That would be a crappy name to have. |
#12zombiegleemaxDec 28, 2004 11:08:37 | Guano would be an excellent name for a stinky little roguish halfling i think. :D |
#13SysaneDec 28, 2004 12:02:15 | I have a human psion/psyhic warrior/monk thats currently doing Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil named Yao Shen. I almost named him Lo Shen! I quickly realized that would have been a big mistake with my group. I would never of heard the end of "lotion" jokes! :P |
#14zombiegleemaxDec 28, 2004 12:50:10 | I have a human psion/psyhic warrior/monk thats currently doing Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil named Yao Shen. I almost named him Lo Shen! That reminds me of a wizard named Crispian my friend played in the original temple. He gave us countless hours of amusement. Especially when he was slain by a salamanders fireball. |

#16grodogDec 28, 2004 23:09:21 | Back to my second question: Where's Anondson? I haven't seen him around in awhile, Valkaun_Dain, but you might consider posting over on the Canonfire! forums, since he may well show browse CF! more often than here.... |
#17eric_anondsonDec 31, 2004 15:03:51 | Back to my second question: Where's Anondson? The delayed bat-signal finally is noticed (with an elbow by grodog). I'm around and on the net. I've dropped back most of my RPG forum browsing as I haven't had an oportunity to game for nearly a year (beyond DMing a few LG playtests). Even bigger, Real Life (tm) sucked freetime away like nothing else. Most of my RPG forum lurking is over on ENWorld right now. Basically, if the thread title looks like something up my alley, I go lurk through it. Regards, Eric Anondson |
