I played it these days and I think it's amazing!!! I know that is difficult to get your hands on the old module, so if you've a PC and like video games, just check it out. You may get it at a place called Never Winter Vault (google ). |

I've played it through a few times, it was easiest to beat with a cleric or paladin. I did learn the hard way to save the game before entering Strahd's tomb. It was actually hardest to beat the very first encounter (with a wolf) if you start out the game at 1st level instead of the recommended start level of 7th for single play. http://nwvault.ign.com/Files/modules/data/1026503389040.shtml |

However, I dont think this is the fault of the builder, but more of the Neverwiner Nights engine. All the "flashy" effects (spells, glowing monk fists etc), the archictecture of the buildings and the graphics style in general dont exactly scream "dark gothic atmosphere" at me. Besides that, I liked the "spires". |

#5ividJan 06, 2005 11:12:15 | I will try to play it with my Darkon - The Shrouded Years group *never done kind of LAN party before...* to give them a flavour how Ravenloft people and adventures are... It may not be the best way to do, but it is certainly the easiest one... ;) |

Much of the map is "abbreviated," many of the puzzles are "dumbed down," and a lot of the tilesets really aren't used properly--or to be more precise, a lot of maps use inappropriate tilesets. There's also a pretty bad bug with the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind (I can't remember what it was--one of the other people I was playing with had a problem with it...he couldn't drop it or something). I've made a much more accurate conversion that will be a part of the upcoming NWN persistent world "Ravenloft: Prisoners of the Mists" Once the PW server is open to the public, I'll probably release a conversion of I6 as a way to promote our server. |

You're right. For sure *Spires of Ravenloft* had its weaknesses - but for a fan module, I still considered it outstanding. (I found that i. e. *Restenford*, a Greyhawk conversion, was far weaker...) Please keep me informed about your project. I am very interested. |

It's more for the builders of the project than players at the moment, but we have posted some screenshots....and I posted a few of Castle Ravenloft's interior. |
