#1zombiegleemaxJan 28, 2005 15:09:26 | Hey Guys and Gals back from Iraq and ready for some Dark sun. How is everybody? I'm going to start working on my maps as well as campaign ideas. been looking at some of your sites Gr8 stuff. Got some gr8 swords and clothes from the desert as well as an idea of athasian heat ( 143 farenheit over there) Scott |
#2nytcrawlrJan 28, 2005 15:59:14 | So how do you feel about being cannon fodder for a bunch of criminal thug (Bush and co) invading a foreign country for there oil and then lying to the whole nation and world and plugging your country in the biggest deficit ever while becoming the most hated country in the world? :D Now, now. The man just got back, give him some breathing room. |
#3pringlesJan 28, 2005 16:07:39 | The man just got back, give him some breathing room. Maybe I just want to make sure his not one of these patriotic (or I should say pathetic) flag-waving idiot. Iraq little Athas? Why not. Wich sorcerer king Bush is more close too. I'll say Daskinnor, they are both mad and see ennemies everywhere. |
#4nytcrawlrJan 28, 2005 16:17:51 | Maybe Easy killer. |
#5zombiegleemaxJan 28, 2005 20:40:57 | Ya know, Pringles, there are a LOT of Americans on the boards. And your leaders, I'm sure , have their failings, too. Quebec loves France so much, and their president is a big sissy. And I've been to Quebec. It wasn't all that. These boards aren't for political mudslinging, and how DARE you verbally assault one of our valiant soldiers, especially when he just got back from helping remove a DESPOTIC DICTATOR THAT CHIRAC ILLEGALLY SOLD WEAPONS TO from power? Glass houses, pringles. Glass houses. And who the H*** are you to insult our patriotism? Our country SAVED FRANCE from Hitler, and you didn't complain. Hussein is nothing but Hitler on a lower level. You have some gall. Typical, considering. Coward. And you have no right to insult our President. Maybe we need to invade YOU next. At least we have the courage to go after our foes, not LET THEM INVADE AND WELCOME THEM WITH OPEN ARMS. Go knit a sweater. |
#6nightdruidJan 28, 2005 20:57:51 | Welcome back Scott. Glad to hear you have returned safely! |
#7PennarinJan 28, 2005 21:07:47 | Welcome back Gr8scott, safe and alive! (A friend of mine just switched from militia to army.) Way to go Vortexa, although a bit strong yourself. Quebec loves France so much, and their president is a big sissy. And I've been to Quebec. It wasn't all that. Effectively. We couldn't care less for France. They too don't care about us. Same for U.S./U.K. Our country SAVED FRANCE from Hitler, and you didn't complain. Mmm, that's because we're not France. We came from there, but a wee bit before 1945. You see, the at the time king of France sent a few boats of men to colonize his New-France colony (modern day Quebec province) in the Americas, and later sent ships full of fun ladies so the man could marry and effectively populate the colony, and those womans were known has the King's Girls, but they were really street prostitutes that volunteered for the trip. Fun and contextually irrelevant facts to know |
#8GrummoreJan 28, 2005 21:08:33 | Welcome back Gr8scott ! Silly frog always here! |
#9zombiegleemaxJan 28, 2005 21:16:33 | My apologies to any honorable Quebecers that I may have offended with my feedback. Just was bitter. Pennarin, Grummore, I apologize if I offended you. You guys are all right. Pringles, however, no apologies to you. |
#10dawnstealerJan 28, 2005 22:21:06 | Good to have you back. Wish all you guys would come home soon: a lot of my friends are over there right now. To the rest of you: Dark Sun Boards; Politics are posted elsewhere. I could go on an on about our village idiot or the reason we should have invaded Iraq, but that's for another place and another time. Let's keep the battles to fantasy for now, eh? |
#11monastyrskiJan 28, 2005 22:30:05 | Little Athas? Well, it somehow explains, what do GIs do there: a kreen invasion has begun! Or, maybe, they are the space halflings? 143 °F sounds great too. I always thought that 134 is an absolute maximum ever observed on the Earth. Where does your government send you, guys? And what devices does it use to break this f...ing antimagic field? |
#12zombiegleemaxJan 28, 2005 23:38:50 | You are, of course, correct, Dawnstealer. In the future, I'll leave politics out of it. I just felt the need to say something when one of our boys was being sliced and diced after coming home. But the subject has ran it's course. |
#13eric_anondsonJan 28, 2005 23:51:14 | Hey Guys and Gals back from Iraq and ready for some Dark sun. Welcome back, and thank you for your service! Regards, Eric Anondson |
#14eric_anondsonJan 28, 2005 23:59:48 | I just want to make sure his not one of these patriotic (or I should say pathetic) flag-waving idiot. And who are you, the self-appointed patriotism/thought police, that anyone should care for your opinion on the matter? |
#15Shei-NadJan 29, 2005 0:06:54 | Never mind... Shame on both of them. |
#16zombiegleemaxJan 29, 2005 1:05:12 | There is no shame in defending the honor of your country and more specifically your soldiers. Anyone who has a problem with that can go straight to Baator,by the most expedient means possible. |
#17pringlesJan 29, 2005 3:42:16 | DARE you verbally assault one of our valiant soldiers, especially when he just got back from helping remove a DESPOTIC DICTATOR THAT CHIRAC ILLEGALLY SOLD WEAPONS TO from power? You just show your ignorance about the subject. US also sold weapons to Saddam. Rumsfeld went to Irak in 1983. Saddam was backed by the US even when he gazed the kurd. : Here:http://www.photius.com/rogue_nations/rumsfeld_saddam.gif You really think the soldier went there to free the iraqi people from a brutal dictator. You still believe this ****? You should do a little more research. This war was about oil and makingh money. Who got all the contract for iraq? Halliburton, the ex-company of Dick Cheney. So its not about coward. France knew Bush is full of ********. 90% of the world hate Bush. 48% of american hate Bush. Not our fault if you still believe your president. Its your country that is ****ed, not mine. So before insulting me with your Pentagone propaganda, chek your fact first. No offense End of discussion. Bush invaded iraq saying it was a menace to USA. Big deal. They never found weapons of mass destuction, Saddam had no tie with al-quaida |
#18gabJan 29, 2005 11:31:03 | Guys, I'm not a moderator, but this thread is way off-topic. If you want to discuss the war in Iraq, do it by private email, or find another message board. Before things get way out of hand, let's stop this now, ok? |
#19zombiegleemaxJan 29, 2005 11:39:22 | I have no further wish to discuss it. I just want him to stop. This is my last post on the subject. |
#20Shei-NadJan 29, 2005 11:54:44 | There is no shame in defending the honor of your country and more specifically your soldiers. Anyone who has a problem with that can go straight to Baator,by the most expedient means possible. Defending dishonorable acts of countries and shameful wars certainly is. Unconditional support to your country and your soldiers is very simple-minded, though its does seem to be a national policy down there... Reminds me of the whole John Kerry - Vietnam War atrocities incident. Amercians are not mad at him for lying about them. They are mad at him for ADMITTING them... Crazy world, crazy people... Crazy, dangerous people... Anyways... It doesn't mean every american is like that, nor does it give any reason to attack individual soldiers here simply because they were sent to war in Iraq, wether they agreed to it or not. |
#21eric_anondsonJan 29, 2005 12:26:32 | Before things get way out of hand, let's stop this now, ok? It was out of hand with the second post in this thread. |
#22eric_anondsonJan 29, 2005 12:41:57 | This war was about oil and makingh money. Not nearly as much as the opposition was about money. The chart stops at 1990 because afterwards money to Saddam went through the Oil-for-Palaces program, or black market... and we know which nations were on the take there, don't we. But I'm sure you meant to mention this, didn't you? Sure wouldn't want you to appear simple-minded. |
#23dawnstealerJan 29, 2005 13:00:53 | :: patiently awaits the nuke from WoTC.... Seriously, guys. |
#24Shei-NadJan 29, 2005 13:15:30 | Not nearly as much as the opposition was about money. The chart stops at 1990 because afterwards money to Saddam went through the Oil-for-Palaces program, or black market... and we know which nations were on the take there, don't we. hahaha... yeah... what an evil program that was! Yeah american propaganda! Woohoo! |
#25dawnstealerJan 29, 2005 14:22:21 | Political Board Move the discussion here - I value your opinions too much to be banned for something like this. |
#26pringlesJan 29, 2005 15:57:08 | That political forum suck badly, I recommand going there instrad: http://ruthlessreviews.com/forum/index.php. or there www.gnn.tv http://ruthlessreviews.com/rants/****thetroops.html http://ruthlessreviews.com/rants/americanmedia.html But anyway, I will not argue with pro-bush since they have lost contact with reality and live in a fantasy world. |
#27DragonhelmJan 29, 2005 18:46:19 | But anyway, I will not argue with pro-bush since they have lost contact with reality and live in a fantasy world. The only fantasy world that should be discussed on these boards is Athas. The original poster simply said that he had come back from Iraq and wanted to discuss some Dark Sun. I'm certain he's well aware of the split political views we all have. Rather than continue down this dark path, let's try to honor the request of the original poster, and talk about the one thing we do agree upon - our mutual love of Dark Sun. |
#28zombiegleemaxJan 29, 2005 18:58:21 | That political forum suck badly, I recommand going there instrad: http://ruthlessreviews.com/forum/index.php. Thanks for the links, unfortunately I have no links for you to go to, so how about you just go... away. Scott, Welcome back from Iraq, speaking as an American and a son of a veteran, I'm grateful to all of you that have have served and the sacrifices made, and speaking as a gamer, welcome back to the community. |
#29zombiegleemaxJan 29, 2005 20:12:37 | Yeah, welcome back to Athas, Gr8Scott! I'm sure you'll enjoy Dregoth Ascending as much as we did. :D |
#30jesterjeffJan 29, 2005 20:22:35 | And thus the great Knowledge spread to even more of the faithful: Let no man speak of politics upon the forums, for it spreads chaos and discord in it's wake. And then there was peace once again. Amen. |
