You buy the plaster and with the molds, make any frickin thing you can think of, fitting everything together like legos (with glue). I've been dying to get a hold of some of the molds for making Dark Sun style models for a long time now, just haven't gotten around to it just yet. All in all, a much cheaper alternative to actually buying pre made miniature buildings and hoping they fit the feel of DS (pre-made buildings aren't cheap; most cost about twice as much as one mold style that Hirst offers, and with the mold, you can cast out a few years worth of buildings). Granted, you would need to buy around a half a dozen different molds at 20-35 USD each, and the casting materials as well which chalks up another 50 USD if your getting the good stuff . . . then of course there's glue and paints . . . but its still ALOT cheaper than the alternatives. Edit: If you check halfway down this page, you'll find a square house that just screams Tyr (with the posts comming out the sides at the top). Also, if your not very familiar with mold making, there are some wonderful guides both on the site, as well as the message boards (which appear to be down right now). I've done a good amount of work with casting and molds, so if you do deciede to go this route and have any questions, shoot me an email. |

I have my Son and nephews and Nieces playing dark Sun now kinda kool. I want it to be even better for them than it was and is for me. I got some silk in Iraq for the tents and awnings now I need some small trees for the Kings garden. any ideas about the Golden Tower? scott |
