Hello everyone I'm a new poster to the boards here and I just wanted to say hello to everyone here. I just finished reading the last of the Dragonlance Chronicles books (Spring Dawning) last week and I have to say this is my favorite fantasy series next to Tolkien. I've really been hooked ever since Autumn Twilight, I really love DL. I haven't had the opportunity to do a lot of roleplaying recently. It's been maybe 3 years since my last experience (that was 2nd ed D&D) so I clearly have a lot of ground to cover. I just joined a local gaming club at my college though and was delighted to find 3 other guys who love Dragolance and are looking to organize a full blown campaign sometime during the week. I definitely want to get in on this but I'm unsure of where to start. Are there any books or supplements about the DL world (pertaining to roleplaying) that I should check out? I just need someplace to start off. Any help offered would be greatly appriciated. I'm gonna try and visit these boards often and read up on people's posts. I hope I will get the chance to get to know some of you a little better. Thanks again for the help, I'm really excited and glad to be here.

Welcome aboard! I'd recommend picking up the Dragonlance Campaign Sourcebook (DLCS) and Age of Mortals book to give you the basics on some of the races and character classes available to Dragonlance game-wise. Build on with the other books from there, depending on what you'd like to do. Do you know what age in DL you and your group are planning to play in? That will influence to a certain degree getting other books or not. Hope that helped a little.

Get the Dragonlance Campaign Setting. Then it depends when you want to play and what you want to play. If you want Wizards/Sorcerors, Towers of High Sorcery is a good bet. If your playing in the Age of Mortals(The current date), then the Age of Mortals book. War of the Lance book in War of the Lance.(Heck, i'm thinking about picking up the War of the Lance book and i don't play in War of the Lance, because it's a very good book). The Dragonlance DM Screen is usefull from what everyone tells me. The Beastiary of Krynn was a letdown, but some of the things were really useful.

Thanks for the replies so far. Our DM is planning to set the campaign in the Age of Mortals. He said it was something like 50 years or so after the events of the War of Souls. Beyond that I dont know much more. We're starting off at level 1 though, and he's restricting races to human, drawf, elf, kender, gnome, half elf, and minatour. Hopefully I'll get back to you with more information.

In that case you might want to read the war of souls trilogy to get you up to speed on what's changed!
