Is this supplement still slated to be out this year? I realize that the Holy Orders of Stars and Tasslehoff's Map Pouch are slated for this year, but the two other books we have heard rumors of is Races of Ansalon and the Legends sourcebook. Just curious if these supplements are still slated for maybe this year, or if they've been scrapped.

I would like this book just because I think it would help two of my players who are still relatively new to D&D. Maybe they can define their characters a little better since they havent read a lot about Dragonlance. I dont want to reference them to many different books, if a book like this can come out and help give summaries and culture information.

While I have no idea whether SP will honor us with a Races source book, I'd recommend for your players to read the players guide form the TotL boxed set. If you or your players can't get your hands on that, go with the DLCS.... The information on races and culture is IMO.

I think it's unlikely they'll be released until maybe late, late this year (fall). They don't even have cover mockups yet and it's several months after that is revealed that an SP product is actually released. Not trying to start a flame war, just going by past examples.

It's possible they could arrive this year, the folks at SP have been saying something about a big announcement that's forthcoming, so maybe additional products are part of that announcement (products beyond those already announced). A races book would be a GREAT supplement IMHO, and one I heartily look forward to. :D

A races book would be a great idea for a product to be finished in the near future. It would sell well, and while the people might be being shuffled around a bit, the races themselves won't change their spots all that much. So lots of prestige classes, feats, social and cultural life, etc. Heck, if you do the humans by region/ethnicity, instead of by country, you don't even have to worry about the invasions changing it much.

Besides, it would be good to know the ethnic spread of Ansalon's humans.

Just as long as all the feats weren't reprinted from another book, like the feats in WotL are mostly from AoM....

There's a good reason those feats were reprinted. There's no assumption that you will own both the Age of Mortals sourcebook and the War of the Lance one, and the reprinted feats are all considered useful for the setting. So, rather than create NPC stat blocks that include those feats and say "buy AoM for details on what this feat does", the feats are simply reprinted in the book.

Cheers,

Well if you look closely they did change Spellcasting Prodigy to the new version that was in Players Guide to Faerun I think. It doesnt add to DC anymore, just bonus spells. Which is good in my opinion.

I dont mind the reprinting of feats, but I also like to see new ones. So a mix of both doesnt bother me too much. I guess just because feats dont seem tot ake up lots of space.

That's the beauty part about WotL. It's got a mix of old feats and new.
