This is a plot element I've been wishing to incorporate in games but I've never had a clear understanding of how to implement it. |

In general, however, I imagine that balance-enforcers apply the very same standards for CG and LG as they do for every other alignment. They will try to eliminate representatives of the alignments whenever it appears that they stand unopposed by other forces, and are threatening to begin spreading their views or their influence in significant ways. If this happens less often to Good creatures than Evil or LN/CN ones, it would only be because of whatever restrictions Good faces in its approach to further its ideals, and perhaps a tendency to be more cautious about acquiring power for power's sake. |

The Pontipope's magical might (handed down by Zaphkiel himself) is such that all evil beasts quail at his might... there is an inbalance and it must be corrected. On a small island there lives a brilliant man. With his guidance a young man will turn from the dark path that he is destined to walk and will become a well meaning, yet unassuming shopkeep. His destined path, the path that will balance his world and help to balance the multiverse itself must be followed - yet the old man stands in the way of this possible future outcome. If I were the old man I'd watch for coppery-colored folks with big knives right about now... |

If I were the old man I'd watch for coppery-colored folks with big knives right about now... And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change, a girl sitting on her own in a small cafe in Richmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong all this time, and she finally knew how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right, it would work, and no one would have to get nailed to anything. Sadly, however, before she could get to the phone to tell anyone about it, a terrible, stupid catastrophe occured, and the idea was lost forever. This is not her story. - Douglas Adams And on the bridge of the lead Vogon ship, a green, hideous figure shimmered and changed. For just a moment he seemed a tall humanoid with silver skin and a strangely segmented skull. Then he vanished, leaving the worlds to their fate. |
