JohnBiles12-22-07, 04:55 AM | The new adventure on the D&D Insider Dungeon section, Essence of Evil, has notes on converting the adventure to Mystara, so I thought I'd note that here for the completists in our ranks. (Indeed, they went crazy with conversion notes for everything from Forgotten Realms to Birthright; the default assumes Greyhawk.) |
gawain_viii12-22-07, 01:32 PM | SWEET! Something else to watch for... Although it doesn't say anything in particular, next month's 4e preview is called "Worlds and Monsters". The product description says it will contain essays and asides from designers on some of the games most iconic locations and monsters... perhaps IoD and Castle Amber? *crossing fingers* Roger |

Cthulhudrew12-22-07, 04:16 PM | Interesting. I just downloaded the adventure to check it out, and noticed that they use the Outer Beings as the catalyst of the adventure. Considering the OBs are Mystara fanon and not canon, that is very interesting indeed. Yay, Mystara community making a mark on the world! :) |

Yay, Mystara community making a mark on the world! :) Minor nitpick, I believe Outer Beings are mentioned once in module M3 with the Carnifex. I don't remember this from the adventure itself, but I do remember us all having this conversation about who came up with Outer Beings, and the person who did all the initial work on the OBs(forget which of you it was) was surprised when someone else pointed out they are mentioned in the module. Perhaps a case of sticking in the subconscious until the creative juices started flowing. This conversation might have been on the MML rather than the message board. |

Cthulhudrew12-22-07, 09:32 PM | Minor nitpick, I believe Outer Beings are mentioned once in module M3 with the Carnifex. Not in my copy, they're not. I'm pretty much (99.9% sure) that the first time they were ever mentioned in a Mystara context is in either Geoff Ganders or Mystaros' take on them on the MML several years back now. They're all more inspired by Lovecraft than anything that ever came up in Mystara material. |

The name is probably Geoff's, since James calls them "Entities from beyond the void" or something on those lines. Anyway, kudos to Geoff, James and all the other people who wrote on the OB for sending them into the Canon Dimension! ;) |
