Hey, the party kender has a question. Is it an actual pouch, or just a plastic bag of maps? He really wants it to be an actual pouch, because he wants an excuse for how he got the Kender Spoon of Turning, Rabbitslayer, and the Device of Time Journeying.

Don't forget Tasslehoff's Magic Mouse Ring! Of course, they don't call it that now.

My very first kender had Rabbitslayer and the Magic Mouse Ring, btw. I've since grown out of it. ;)

Back to topic!

I must confess that the picture of the Nalis Aren hurts me in my very soul.
When I was a child, I enjoyed the tales about young Tanis and Flint in Qualinost. *I think the novel of Anthony/Porrath (spelling? It was about 12 years ago, I believe) was my favourite*

To witness the slow downfall of the Elven nation and the final destruction of their home was really painful...

It's a stack of maps and a cover page wrapped in plastic. Not an actual pouch. Sorry about that, heh.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I'm relieved people enjoy it. I think some of the other maps in the product outshine this one however, heh. ;) But I'll let others decide that for themself when they get the actual product.

While we'd love to provide a leather pouch, scroll cases, and maps printed on parchment -- that would be more of a $100 item instead of $14.99. Instead we brought you Sean's gorgeous maps for a great price!

Thank you sir. If you like this one I'm sure you'll like the rest, heh.

I think I have to leave that up to Jamie. Although if you name some of the locations that are prominent in the Age of Mortals you'll have a good idea of what you're getting. ;)

Thanks Jamie!

*Reaches in his map pouch and pulls out some maps...*

Let's see... In no particular order I have the Lake of Death of course. Sad place that it is...

A little town I like to call... Solace... in the fall. I always loved Solace in the Fall with the fiery orange and red leaves in the trees.

The draconian city of Teyr. Do you know how hard it was to get a map of that place?

You have to have a map of Sanction in the Age of Mortals. So I got one of those and the lava flows look so cool and the green vales behind the city...

The shining city of Solanthus is another map here... you know you actually have to fill out a permit and pay a fee to map that place? I also hear they double the fee if your a kender! But that was ok because I found a pouch with some money in it anyway...

I have a map of the Citadel of Light and the Lyceums practically sparkle in the sunlight. It's really beautiful.

Here is an interesting one called Darkling Hall with all sorts of evil trials and tests on it. I'll have to look into that one further.

Oh yeah... there is also this one. Shhhh don't tell anyone I have it. It might be confiscated. But it's a map of the Towers of Wayreth. *tucks that one quickly back in his pouch*

Let's see I also have a map of a place called Storm's Keep... I just might have to go visit that place sometime...

Oh and here is one by the kender Kronn Thistleknott. Oops it says not to borrow it... But it looks like it's a hand drawn map of the Desolation with little notes on hidden kender villages and locations of dragon lairs, neat!

And the last map I have in here is one by my "Uncle" Tasslehoff of the entire continent with all his notes scribbled all over it... I always knew Solanthus had the best jails!

The last map I have is a huge 33"x22" map of the entire continent in full color with tons of locations marked....

*Puts back his maps*

I hope that satisfies everyone’s curiosity!

That, my kender friend, is an understatement. ;)

Sean did an amazing job on the Citadel of Light map. Better still than the old SAGA map, with all the detail and more!

How Kipper got Mirror to give him a ride up into the sky so that he could draw a pic of the place, I don't know!

So, Sean get's to do the maps for EVERY future product, right? Seriously, it would be a crying shame if he didn't get to use those skills on a regular basis. I am really looking forward to this product and can't wait to get my grubby little hands on it. Good job Sean, I can't wait to see the rest. Now, if only they decided to make a War of the Lance Map Pouch done by Tas as well. Give a nice map of the High Clerist's Tower, Palanthas, Qualinesti, Pax Tharkas, etc. Heck, SP could make a mini line of Map Products, working backwards. They could do a pre-Cataclysm set after that.

EVERY one? That would be nice. But only time will tell. Thanks for the kind words. Like Jamie said I did all the maps for SoS.. it's too bad they're all in black and white. ;). But I think you'll like them anway. (Not to mention that there is this kick-ass adventure storyline backing them up, heh. Or that may be the other way around...)

Like I said before, I think the Lake of Death is good, but I think some of the others are even better, IMHO anyway, heh. I hope you'll enjoy them.

I have a lot of fun working together with Sean. I give him crazy map concepts and he ends up making them work! He's an excellent talent at this stuff and Spectre wouldn't be nearly as good without his maps.

Cheers,

Sweet, it is really cool that they are putting your skills to good use. I really like the layered effect of the map, it makes it look like I am actually looking down on the Lake itself. Since I am going to get SoS, it looks like I'll get to look at some of your other masterwork as well. The thing I enjoy about the AoM campaign modules is that the art inside isn't junk, like what most adventure companies do. We get high quality stuff.

Well, if they are any bit as good as the Lake of Death, I don't believe there will be a problem with me enjoying these maps. Grade A++ material.

Great looking maps!! I love the Dragon carcass silhouetted under the water!

Do you think these maps will have any use for players set in the WotL period? I'm on the edge whether or not to buy this or not.

Someone else asked this and I don't have any doubt that it will be useful. Although the Poster Map is as "up to date" as I could make it and is clearly in the Age of Mortals it will still be useful to find locations and distances during the WotL.

Out of the page-sized maps Solace, Sanction, Solanthus, Darkling Hall, Tower of Wayreth are all there during the 4th Age. So with a little tweaking (ie. Sanction will not look as clean, Solace may not be as crowded, Solanthus would have one less wall...) They could still be useful.

The other maps look pretty at least. :D
