Ok now that everyone from the orginal books are dead Dalamar is my fav Dragonlance char, So I'm woundering whats up with him, I read Wizards conclave and It didnt like the stupid white robed girl who was all like Well I just took my test and now I am powerful, but this is more about Dalamar, one I didnt like what happened to his face, sure it make him more intimadating, but he was like I have to live with this face, Why? why not get get a cleric to cast greater resteration on his face or something? and With the amber and ashes book there is a half elf and dark dwarf runing Nutrail's tower, isnt Dalamar his chosen? and like higher level and well cooler? like I'm all for powerful evil wizards but I like dalamar more, So what i'm trying to say whats going on with him and what he has to do with the towers? And as to the choosen thing did he not get one of his spellbooks back that was looked in his old tower?

Dalamar isn't vain. Honestly, he's been living with the damn bleeding wounds on his chest for more than sixty years, he can deal with a few scars on his face. Frankly, Dalamar I think secretly envies the sacrifices that Raistlin made for his magic and wants to use his scars to establish "THIS IS WHAT I SACRIFICED FOR MY MAGIC!"

Jenna is the vain one (anyone have that picture from the Towers of Wizardry book? The one with the pink robe?)

Personally, I thought Jenna and Dalamar were being remarkably biased because of their personal connection. Coryn can't be expected to act like a High Wizard because she A never was one and B They refuse to teach her anything!

It's rather sad that they felt the need to be obtuse and mysterious even in a desperate situation.

As for why Dalamar isn't running Nuitari's tower, the Tower is a secret and Dalamar is the "public man." Nuitari is also still alittle brassed off that Dalamar sold out the planet to Takhasis the first chance he got. Nuitari doesn't trust Dalamar anymore and frankly part of his price was that Dalamar give up all of his spellbooks and magical items at the tower. It's more or less what he deserves but Dalamar will bounce back.

Yes I would agree with you there, But I think the scars will take away from Dalamar as he has always been charming and has that handsom evil sex apeal, as he beded many O ladys, But I also agree with the treatment of Coryn cuz well I dont like her, she's too young and is stealing away from raistlin, as shwe was 16 when she took the test, younger then raistlin, personaly I'd like to see her die, Why? I'm evil MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Well mayby not die but played down and someone take her place as head of the white robes and faze her out some, cuz when I think of the WOHS I think of Dalamar and Jenna not some silly chit of a girl that needs a slap in the face, cuz well she is a child, Dalamar it like what 150 years old or somthing like that?, I'm just hoping Dalamar will show up in the next book that comes after Amber and ashes.

I gotta disagree.

Frankly, unless Jenna and Dalamar get some serious attitude adjustment they should step down (well actually its only Jenna). Jenna is acting entirely silly if you ask me. She didn't think to recruit sorcerers for the Towers of High Sorcery? Great move there girl.

Dalamar at least recognizes the potential.

In any case, Coryn's now 27. It's been ten years game time and she's spent most of her time in Solamnia

And Dalamar won't have any trouble with the lady, illusion spells or alter self whenever he needs

Not much luck would he have with priests though if Lady Crysannia isn't alive though. He's a bad bad man and the priests of the other gods aren't too sweet on him.

Who knows - maybe Dalamar knows about the tower, but it would have made others (whites and reds) suspect something if Dalamar would have gone there to become the master of this tower. So, MAYBE Nuitari asked him to stay away from the secret tower. Maybe Dalamar even send/trained those who work in the tower.

In Wizards Conclave he used Palin's old spell-book where there is only simple spells. But now his in Tower, so there is probably endless collection of spell-books - including probably something from Fisty or from Raistlin...

I doubt that he was asked and refused. Dalamar has always been an opportunist. He'll grab at anything that'll help him acquire more power. Unlike Raistlin, he knows his limitations and will desire nothing more than to be the most powerful mage on Krynn. The most likely scenario is that Dalamar knows nothing about the Tower of Istar and he's on Nuitari's black list (or his white list whichever is the bad one for him) due to his actions during the WoS. As a side not I haven't read Wizard's Conclave as of yet, and from the initial response on this and other boards I didn't feel it necessary or worthwhile to. I'm starting to change my mind on that now though.

By the way the spelling is Nuitari and it is pronounced NWEE-TAREE

NWEE means "night". I don't know what TAREE means.

Anyways, this is off topic, but do you think Raistlin (when he was alive) and Nuitari are equals even though Nuitari is a god.

There's no official pronunciations, per Margaret and Tracy. They feel that the correct way to pronounce a name is however the reader pronounces it. ;)

NWEE means "night". I don't know what TAREE means.

Probably moon.

Solinari is based off of Sol, or the sun. It's the moon of light.

Lunitari gets inspiration from Luna, or the moon.

Nuitari, as you mention, would basically mean "night moon".

Not in this timeline. Pehaps in another...
