#1zombiegleemaxMar 16, 2005 6:14:56 | It says in the WotL book that in the Council Chamber in the Temple of Neraka has 6 plataforms (4 for the white, blue, black and green DHighlords, 1 for Ariakas and 1 for the Dark Queen herself). But what about the Red Highlord? I mean, during the time when Verminaard of Nidus was still ruling the red wing, was there a place for him? Even a little bench? k, thats all... Burger |

The novel, Before the Mask, makes it look like Verminaard is one of the first highlords to unify the bandits of Neraka and, in fact, he even visits the temple in its early days. edit: after referring to an old sourcebook, the platform for Ariakas is that of the Red Dragonarmy. The temple of Neraka has a Red Dragonarmy encampment outside (along with the other colours) as well as a Red Army gate leading to the inner temple. |
#4cam_banksMar 16, 2005 11:52:08 | after referring to an old sourcebook, the platform for Ariakas is that of the Red Dragonarmy. The temple of Neraka has a Red Dragonarmy encampment outside (along with the other colours) as well as a Red Army gate leading to the inner temple. This has been maintained in the War of the Lance sourcebook. All five armies have camps at Neraka, which swell to the size of small towns or cities when the armies reunite there to await the arrival of the Queen of Darkness. Verminaard didn't live long enough to see that occasion, and indeed he wasn't even the first of the Red Dragon Highlords (just the most successful). Cheers, Cam |
#5zombiegleemaxMar 16, 2005 12:25:58 | verminaard died "soon", but what about Phair? I mean, didnt she went to the temple? Didnt she had a plataform (those are questions, not statements)? And all the time Verminaard is refered as the Red Highlord, everytime. Ariakas could have become the Red after Verminaard's fall in Thorbadin, but before that... k, thats all... Burger |
#6morgion-s_clawMar 16, 2005 12:41:59 | But Ariakas was the head behind the "fighting troops" being the one building the solid base in Sanction with draconian creation, recruiting mercenaries (like Kit) as the bulk of the later Dragonarmies... Therefore he was always one of the champions of her dark mistress Suits her well to have a bunch of powermongers all thinking they'd be the only chosen ones of her, so I haven't any porbs with that. And Phair wasn't she/he dead already? Dying in the Silvanesti campaign? Must pilfer through my books then... Regards M's Claw |
#7cam_banksMar 16, 2005 14:22:06 | Phair Caron lead the Red Wing into the Silvanesti campaign but died when the Nightmare descended upon the elven forest. This setback inspired Ariakas to regroup and reassign his forces in the following year, which is when he handed Verminaard the controlling authority over the Red Wing. Phair Caron and Verminaard were both the Red Dragon Highlord in their time, but after Verminaard also failed to achieve his objectives, Ariakas stepped in and took control of the Red Army directly. Prior to this he was chief among highlords, having come up with the idea for the five dragonarmies himself, and styled himself Emperor of Ansalon. It is likely that if he wasn't the Red Dragon Highlord at the time of Takhisis return to the world, he would have arranged for a platform all of his own or demoted the Red Highlord on the spot. It's a good thing for Phair Caron and Verminaard that they were already dead. Cheers, Cam |
#8morgion-s_clawMar 17, 2005 10:41:20 | Ahh! Thanks Cam! Faster than my nose in my books *Sigh* Back in the WotL, old Takhi was in her prime, still having her clutches around the principle of Chaos and Evil: Might makes right (and me, the Dark Majesty, I am always right *Smite!*) Loved the stories about the downfall of her later minions... and certainly about their demise as well. Cheers! M's Claw *St. Patrick's Day!* Don't forget to drink yome pints of guinness! |
