#1zombiegleemaxMar 21, 2005 16:11:55 | I've recently started running 3.5 Dark Sun using a combo of the Wotc DUNGEON & DRAGON issues and DS3. Was wondering if anybody knew of a 2e sourcebook/adventure/whatever that had details on Raam as it is presented in DUNGEON 110, or at least close. If not, would S&SS's Hollowfaust help at all? |

#5KamelionMar 22, 2005 3:55:53 | You could use Hollowfaust to portray some elements of Raam as described in Paizo's version of the city. The existence of the living alongside the undead is a feature of both Hollowfaust and the Paizo version of Raam although I would say that the society in Hollowfaust is more stable and more defined than Dregoth's Raam. Add some more dissension into the mix and adapt some of the Hollowfaust guilds to represent the merchant, noble and templar factions. Also, Hollowfaust has many types of undead whereas the Paizo writeup of Raam seems to suggest that the undead in the city are primarily athasian zombies and skeletons. You would need to either change this or modify the variety of undead in Hollowfaust to reflect Dregoth's Raam. You're probably already aware of this, but the Raam described in the Paizo setting differs in several ways from the pre-invasion Raam of the old published Dark Sun material as well as from the newer material released by Athas.org. Athas.org's material does feature Dregoth invading Raam, much like Paizo's version, but does not feature undead. Instead, Dregoth invades with a force of dray, his draconic humanoids from Giustenal. |

I know Paizo's Raam is quite different from the traditional 2e version, so that's why I was wondering if any of the 2e stuff (maps, etc.) was still viable. I've decided to go with the undead-overrun version, since I like undead so much (the PCs are descendants of those who fled Kalidnay before it entered Ravenloft, and will end up in the Dread Realm before I'm through with them). I'll take a second look at Hollowfaust, but I'm still not sure about that yet. |

Even I had Dregoth taking over the city. However, what happened to the thousands of Dray he had where did they go. I would change the undead population into Drays. |
