- Littleknowledge: 7/10. Good introduction scenario. Lot of survival. Good role-play situation. The plot is ok, There a couple of inconsistencies and I recommend boosting the Jura Dai elf tribe a little bit.

- Freedom 9/10, very good scenario, lot of role-playing situation, lot of survival and its interesting since its not the usuall survival in the desert. The plot is very good. I like the fact of having the player be slave and work on the giant ziggourat.

- Road to Urik: 8,5/10, another good scenario. Lot of role-playing situation. The plot is very good. Its the best scenario for role-playing. There a big battle at the end too.

- Arcane shadow: 7/10, the first half is good but it get weakier at the end. Not much good role-playing situation. There an interesting vilain.

-Asticlan gambit: 4/10, weak scenario, plot is not interesting, lot of role-play but overall, its weak a scenario.

- Black spine: 3/10, I hate this one. The first half is good with good role-play situation but the githyanki invasion and travel to astral plane dont fit with Dark sun.

- Forest maker: 8/10, interesting scenario with a lot of good roleplay situation and good fight. The plot is good.

- Black flame: 5/10. dont like it. Not much role-play and survival. Yaramuke ruin not exploited much, plot not good.

- Dragon crown: 8/10, good campaign. Plot is good. Lot of role-play situation. Good fight, good ruins and place.

- Merchant house of Amketch: 6/10 A couple of role-play situation. It could have been better. Kalidnay ruin is not enough described and used. The plot suck.

- Marauder of Nibenay: 5/10, not enough role-play situation and plot is a little weak. The Naggamarakam is cool tough.

- Mystery of the ancient 4/10: The part in Tyr is good, specially the test, but the rest of the scenario is weak and not interesting.

I have never run this adventure, so I cannot make any comments on it.

- Freedom 9/10, very good scenario, lot of role-playing situation, lot of survival and its interesting since its not the usuall survival in the desert. The plot is very good. I like the fact of having the player be slave and work on the giant ziggourat.

This is probably one of my least favorite of any of the official adventures. The PCs have almost NO control throughout the entire adventure.

- Road to Urik: 8,5/10, another good scenario. Lot of role-playing situation. The plot is very good. Its the best scenario for role-playing. There a big battle at the end too.

As bad as Freedom, if not worse. The PCs still have little to no control of the flow, as they are thrust into scenario after scenrio.

- Arcane shadow: 7/10, the first half is good but it get weakier at the end. Not much good role-playing situation. There an interesting vilain.

This is a pretty good adventure. The PCs get a glimpse of the good forces in the world and how they are hunted down like the dogs they are.

-Asticlan gambit: 4/10, weak scenario, plot is not interesting, lot of role-play but overall, its weak a scenario.

I agree with you with this. Not too bad, but certainly not very good either.

- Black spine: 3/10, I hate this one. The first half is good with good role-play situation but the githyanki invasion and travel to astral plane dont fit with Dark sun.

Wow, I couldn't disagree with you any more. Besides being my favorite of the Dark Sun adventures, it would also be in my top 10 of all time. Without using a time machine, the PCs get to glimpse into the distant past of Athas, and fight off one of the greatest threats of the multiverse. Sure, the Astral is out of place, but thik of it like this: the Planar Mirror in Guistenal peers through the Gray and into the Outer Planes so why isn't it possible for the githyanki to have found a similar item. In fact part of the adventure involves the PCs destroying the archway that the githyanki have constructed.

- Forest maker: 8/10, interesting scenario with a lot of good roleplay situation and good fight. The plot is good.

I found this adventure to be poorly put together and poorly executed.

- Black flame: 5/10. dont like it. Not much role-play and survival. Yaramuke ruin not exploited much, plot not good.

I have a particular soft spot for this adventure. It was the first D&D adventure I ever ran and it was also the first official Dark Sun product (other than the boxed set) that I purchased. The ruins of Yaramuke aren't explored very much because there isn't much left. I took Farcluun 10 Sands of Time spells to bring the palace back into an exporable ruin. Add into the fact that the PCs are on a time limit and you get very little in the way of exploration time.

- Dragon crown: 8/10, good campaign. Plot is good. Lot of role-play situation. Good fight, good ruins and place.

Another one of my favorite adventures. Plus the PCs get to explore some pretty varied and sometimes dangerous locales. Also, very nice maps and scenrios.

- Merchant house of Amketch: 6/10 A couple of role-play situation. It could have been better. Kalidnay ruin is not enough described and used. The plot suck.

I wouldn't have given it as near as high marks as you gave it.

- Marauder of Nibenay: 5/10, not enough role-play situation and plot is a little weak. The Naggamarakam is cool tough.

Another one of my favorite adventures. One minute the PCs are enjoying a festival and the next it is zombie survival horror. What more could you ask ;)

- Mystery of the ancient 4/10: The part in Tyr is good, specially the test, but the rest of the scenario is weak and not interesting.

Totally agree with this.

Another adventure you forgot was the adventure in City by the Silt Sea. The first time my PCs encountered the Caller in the Darkness it was a fantastic roleplaying experience. They never made it into the lower parts of Guistenal, but they had a rollicking good time exploring the rest of the ruins.

Although I've been a fan of Dark Sun for a long enough time, lack of money and difficult to find material has only allowed me to get my hands on Dragon crown. I would have to say that I absolutely loved this adventure. It was the PCs' first time to Urik and meeting Hammanu. They were so freaking scared of him! One PC died for being a little rude.

Definitely.. I remember the first time the group I played in Giustenal. Seeing ancient tubs filled with blood and dead bodies one minute, clean and dusty the next. A Pile of normal bones one minute, then a standing skeleton the next. DM had lots of mind games going on in that game.

I am getting ready to run a Dark Sun game, and I am going to run a modified City by the Silt Sea adventure. Characters have lost their memories and been sold into slavery. They must be dead before the messenger arrives. Takes them a while to figure out what the messenger is, escape. They learn that they need to get to Raam, because they were supposed to report on the outcome of their mission.

When they get to Raam, they discover that they were members of the veiled alliance, and they learned about rumors of something going down in Giustenal, so they were sent to learn more and see what was up. They are on a time limit here, so they need to get back there and find out what it is they may have learned the first time. This time though, they know that whatever they learned was enough for them to be mindwiped and sold into slavery.

So it's off to Giustenal if they want to find out what happened, and get their memories back. Of course, depending on how things go, it may lead into Dregoth Ascending, or it may lead completely elsewhere, we shall have to wait and see.

As far as the "first trilogy" goes (Freedom, Road to Urik, and Arcane Shadows I think), I always used them as a very rough frame. For example, in Freedom, they are in Tyr when Kalak sets off his spell. In Road to Urik, they do battle with Urik's army (and then get slaughtered on the walls of the city itself). I may use one or two encounters, or possibly an overarching idea, but I rarely run the adventures as is.

...Except Dragon's Crown - that one is damn good right out of the box.

Freedom always gets rewritten by me to one degree or another. In a couple of hours I am off to my weekly DS game to send them off over the Ringing Mountains in search of Nok and the Heartwood Spear. (The group is composed of gamers who have been playing since the 80s and know absolutely nothing about Dark Sun - a great find indeed. Last week one of the players said "So, the Dragon is just a metaphor for the savage, destructive nature of the environment - massive sandstorms and that kind of thing, right?" I blinked for a moment, before replying "Why, yes. Yes, that's exactly what it is...")

I'm about to start the same thing in Seattle once I move. No idea what I'm going to do once they hit Tyr, but I'm sure they'll be involved. Right now, I'm starting them in Balic to buy myself some time.

My group is in Yaramuke at the moment...

Also, we started the campaign prior to the death of Kalak, so I may actually revisit Freedom in the near future.

My group are in Leopoldus south in the year of Dragon agitation right now. They just finished a 6 games (8 hour/game) of campaign in the Forked tongues. They won a battle against Balic army. They had to unite all slave village of the peninsula agaisnt Androponis that was making a raid for slave. Next time we play, I will do my Fallen star scenario I posted earlier here (check a couple of thread below) and then, when the year of the Mountain fury kick in, I will play Dragon crown.
