Has anyone gone into any detail on this area? I have the information from the LLG and from the Living Greyhawk Principality of Ulek website ... but I can't figure out exactly what kind of shape the area is in in late 591 CY.

I'm leaning towards the orcs, for the most part, controlling the disputed territory with a few small bastions of dwarven resistance (in strongholds or the like). However, I'd be interested in others' takes on the area. I want to give my players a good feel for the territory. They're heading into the Pomarj and Havenhill is their next stop.

It's entirely your call. I just have it as constantly changing from one week to the next as any warzone would. You could pull up historical battles from the US Civil War to create your own scheme.

IMC, forces from the Duchy of Ulek are assisting with holding the borders as are some of the Knights of Celene. Havenhill is on close to the edge of the disputed territory, and it is a prime target for Mak's armies.

In all honesty, just make up whatever you'd like or see fit for your campaign.

Thanks for the quick feedback Amaril. I like the U.S. Civil War battles idea and hadn't thought of the Knights of Luna at all (though elves don't seem to be the favorites in the Principality right now).

The elves of Celene are not favored in the Principality of Ulek because of their lack of support in the Battle of Celene Pass and their withdrawal from the affairs of the rest of the world; however, the Knights of Luna were opposed to Celene closing its borders and have been asisting neighboring regions as well as regions bordering Iuz (Highfolk, Furyondy, Veluna).

When I had my players in the disputed region, I drew from an article I found on Canonfire. I tried to insert a link, but when I tested it, it didn't go straight to the article. However, it's not hard to find. Go to Canonfire.com and perform a search on "Bruvas Ribcracker." There should only be one hit. It is written in the form of a Keoish intelligence report on the Pomarj.

The Knights of Luna are more pro-active than typical Celene elves. Plus Prince Brightflame and Prince Corond are personal friends.

Cool. Thanks for the ideas guys. The Canonfire article is excellent and will definitely help. It also gave me a good feel for disputed territory.

For another view on the Disputed Territories:

On Canonfire, there are a couple of articles written by DangerDwarf that describe the Uleks and the Pomarj forces. The articles are called "The Order of the Axe" and "The Tribes of Occupied Ulek". Check them out for a different take on the Disputed territories.

As the author of the Keoish Intelligence Report on the Pomarj, I am glad you found it useful for your campaign. These other articles focus more on the humanoids occupying the lands, while I saw the human forces as playing a larger part, but either of them or even both can be used without too much work to make them compatible. I always saw the Pomarj and the Sea Princes as places where you could design almost anything and there is enough room to let a variety of ideas play along side of each other.
