#3korvarMay 01, 2005 4:31:53 | Do they have an actual write-up anywhere? I can't recall if they're actually in Elves of Athas... |
#4jon_oracle_of_athasMay 01, 2005 5:45:23 | The Jura Dai are not described in Elves of Athas. You can find some information on them in A Little Knowledge from the first DS Boxed Set. |
#5pringlesMay 01, 2005 5:49:54 | Ya I love the Jura dai. I use them a lot in my campaign. Even if there not very much description, I have written my own. I love an elf tribe that is ruthless enough to be at war against Urik. |
#6KamelionMay 01, 2005 7:51:00 | I use the idea from Wisdom of the Drylanders that Jura Dai is the elven name for the Silt Stalkers. In my campgain, they spend the months around Low Sun raiding and pillaging over in the eastern Tablelands. When High Sun draws near, they head into the western Tablelands and trade for those goods they cannot obtain by raiding. Their fury at Urik was due to that city's disruption of their trading season, to which they responded with what they do best - more raiding and pillaging :D |

The chief of the Jura dai is Taga dai. And this tribe are not evil like the Silt stalker can be. And Sand raider tribe and Wind dancer elf tribe are the Raider of the West while Silt stalker are the quivalent for the East. |
#8KamelionMay 01, 2005 14:18:46 | Fits my game just fine My take on elven tribes is that they have a very nomadic aspect to them and don't always stay put in one region. My take on Tuga Dai was that he was a chieftain of the Jura Dai / Silt Stalkers who was replaced by Eevu following his death (at the hands of the PCs). I'm also quite keen on the Moon Runners from the Scorched Plateau region. I like the idea of a migratory tribe that has a sacred home to which it periodically returns. The Night Runners are quite cool also, both pre and post Prism Pentad. A Night Runner bard in my last DS campaign betrayed the entire party to Tithian during the final episode of the campaign (the PCs were trying to expose his evil-doings). They were all slaughtered and the bard got away to live a life of filthy lucre :D. And Sand raider tribe and Wind dancer elf tribe are the Raider of the West Who are the Sand Raider tribe? |
