#1CthulhudrewMay 03, 2005 22:56:47 | I understand that in the original X1 module (the blue cover) there is a full body picture of a Kopru. I only have the orange cover X1. Is there anyone who can confirm this, and if so, would it be possible to scan the picture and send it to me? I'm curious what it looks like, as compared to other pictures of the Kopru in other products. |
#2HuginMay 03, 2005 23:19:06 | I have the orange cover like you, but the Creature Catalog (DMR2) has a full body picture in it. I can't help right now but if you haven't been able to get it by tomorrow evening (say in about 20 hours from now) I'll see about posting it here. |
#3CthulhudrewMay 04, 2005 0:21:08 | I have the orange cover like you, but the Creature Catalog (DMR2) has a full body picture in it. I've got the Creature Catalog version, but I was hoping for the version in the blue cover (if it's any different). I'm just curious how different artits interpret the Kopru- the DMR2 version looks quite different from the Monster Manual II version, and from the PC3 and original Creature Catalog (green cover) versions. There's also a picture of them in the recent Dungeon "Isle of Dread" adventure, but those are based on the MMII version (which I don't really care for, personally. The tail is all wrong- the kopru looks more like a wormlike creature than a mollusk/amphibian.) |

It is some sort of large dinosaur, about 25 feet tall, and a few adventurers and Isle natives are trying to fend the giant reptilian off... while trying to launch their boat off the shore no less! |

The Blue cover can be seen here I believe the two versions of X1 may have different interior illustrations of the Kopru though. Might be useful for you Cthul.... Funny that you should bring this up. I am considering sending my Freeport campaign heroes to the Isle of Dread in the near future... HÃ¥vard |
#6zombiegleemaxMay 04, 2005 16:34:32 | The Kopru full body picture is on page 29 of the 'blue' version in the new monsters section Managed to scan the picture and sent it to Cthulhudrew. If anyone else wants to see it, I'll try and post it tomorrow |
#7HuginMay 04, 2005 16:57:07 | Just to clear things up on behalf of Cthulhudrew, he never said the picture was on the cover. He said "in the original X1", that is, the one with "the blue cover, there is a full body picture". Sorry, just felt to point that out. |
#8zombiegleemaxMay 04, 2005 17:09:01 | thumbnail?? |
#9HuginMay 04, 2005 17:42:00 | thumbnail?? Joe Mason showed me how to make thumbnails using Imageshack in this thread. Here are the two pics of Kopru from the Creature Catalog: |
#10zombiegleemaxMay 04, 2005 19:06:56 | Is that the second CC? I had AC9 (not here, unfortunately), and I don't recognize either of those pictures. The one from AC9 was kind of dumb, though. For completeness, here's the one from the orange cover X1: |
#11CthulhudrewMay 04, 2005 19:58:02 | The Kopru full body picture is on page 29 of the 'blue' version in the new monsters section Awesome! Thanks for the scan, Chris! It's really interesting to see all of these versions side by side. I think the original X1 version looks the closest to the description, and I have always loved the head from the orange cover X2. The Creature Catalog 2 versions are pretty close, though they get the tail wrong. The furthest removed (IMO) are the Monster Manual II version and the guy in the green cover Creature Catalog (who doesn't even have tentacles on his face- I like the picture, but it just doesn't look like a Kopru). Anyway, thanks for all the help guys! I've been wanting that picture for a while now, and it only just occurred to me that someone here would be able to provide it. |
#12HuginMay 04, 2005 20:23:15 | Is that the second CC? I guess so. It is a reddish-orange cover, part of the Challenger series, DMR2 in the upper left hand corner and 9438 in the upper right. |
#13zombiegleemaxMay 05, 2005 15:19:54 | Joe Mason showed me how to make thumbnails using Imageshack in this thread. Very poor attempt wasn't it! :embarrass Be gentle with me I only work in IT, how am I expected to remember the important things like Thaco, if I fill my head with all this computer nonesense . I knew I saw it somewhere, thanks I will save the intructions this time, instead of thinking well that looks easy to remember. |
