#1kwint_pendickMay 11, 2005 11:14:24 | All- I noticed a thread over at Erik Mona's blogsite (www.superunicorn.com/erik) concerning ancient cultures of the Flanaess...It lists many ancient flan cultures I'm familiar with- Tostenhca, Itar, Sulm, etc....It also list some I'm completely unfamiliar with- Durha, Rhugha, Ronhas, Truun, as well as the Necromancers of Trask...My question to the community (and Erik himself) is- what are these cultures; where were they located; what source material do they hail from; and, any other info concerning them... I basically made them up (their existence is implied in "Rary the Traitor," but the names are my own), and the only place you'll find any information about them is the Bright Desert article in Dungeon #98. There's not much even there, because there's not much info on them period, even in my brain. The Necromancers of Trask, I believe, are from Ivid the Undying. There's not much there on them, though, so don't expect a goldmine of information. --Erik Mona |
#3zombiegleemaxMay 12, 2005 10:25:30 | The existance of the necromancers is implied in Ivid - from the entry on the City of the Summer Stars and from the descriptions of the Ur Flan - especially in the North Province/Kingdom section. There's a strong implication that necromancers of the UR Flan held sway in the lands around the Trask. Hence the tombs of the three greatest of their number on the Isle of Lost Souls. P. |

#7erik_monaMay 18, 2005 15:53:42 | Probably not, although some of the fruits of this research will appear in the Age of Worms Adventure Path. And it's not like I can stop my obsession, so look for eventual follow-up posts to my blog on the subject. --Erik Mona Editor-in-Chief Dragon & Dungeon |
