I do not know this seller and I pass no judgment on this auction. I note that one of the more notorious E-Bay scammers goes by the name Eastern Treasure Trove or the like and I, personally, will not buy from anyone using the word "trove" in their name, as the E-bay fellow has been known to alter his seller name but seems commited to using the word "trove." I suggest only looking before you leap.

Is it possible to get Mr. Kuntz, who has posted to this message board, to confirm the legitimacy of this auction?

:D Wasn't that the Eastern Treasure Chest ?

Anyhow, this seller's ebay id is "stormber". I have personally dealt with him several times and can only recommend him. And yes the auctionis legit. He did these kinds of collection auctions for several others in the past. Check out his posts on the acaeum site and ask the other acaeum members if you want more proof

Hi Thanel,

Thank you for the testimonial. The original announcement and link relied upon a pre-existing knowledge of the seller which, as I indicated, I do not possess. I appreciate the additional information.

Paul is a real class act. I purchased something from a similar "all-star" auction, and he was nothing but professional. Paul has one of the best reputations of any of the high-profile D&D collectors out there.

He also owns the original painting of the first edition DMG, the filthy bastard.

Ya, this is Paul's 4th or 5th 'celebrity' gamer auction he's done. His stuff is legit.

Just to reiterate some comments above, I put Rob in touch with Paul, and he's a legit seller of D&D rarities.

I expect that several of the rarest items (the Castle Greyhawk levels, early early D&D tourneys, etc.) will go for $1500+ each.

Classy and reputable or not, this post, and its clones on other venues, are spam. And does it not violate WotC's COC as it pertains to linking to commercial ventures?

In case anyone hasn't checked out the auctions in a few days, several Greyhawk manuscripts, original PCs, etc., were listed on Thursday or Friday night.

Well perhaps that is why he didn't post it himself here. I just thought it would interest some of the Greyhawkers over here...

Sorry about that, Elendur. I'm sure I'll be outbid by the big guns, though, as the auctions start to draw to a close: my purse is far from everful....

In case folks are curious, the final bidding for Rob's materials pulled in about $20,000, including $3650 for the Bottle City Castle Greyhawk level, and many other items in the $500+ range. For details, check out page nine of the Acaeum thread at http://www.acaeum.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2171&start=160

For the record, I didn't win much ;)

Yeah I got out way early. What did you get Grogdog?
Looks like the bidding got pretty crazy at the end.

I can just imagine Grogdog propping up some bar in the River Quarter. How about an NPC writeup, Allan?

Hmmm, a Rhenne drunkard bard, down on his luck, full of stories about the Isles of Woe that no one's willing to hear or believe anymore....
