#1zombiegleemaxMay 29, 2005 11:11:56 | can half giants breed or are they sterile like muls ? |
#2SysaneMay 29, 2005 11:45:42 | can half giants breed or are they sterile like muls ? Yes, they can very much breed. Half giants haven't been magically created for centuries. |
#3jon_oracle_of_athasMay 29, 2005 11:46:52 | Half-giants were originally created by the sorcerer-kings with magic. To my knowledge they breed normally. |
#4nytcrawlrMay 29, 2005 13:07:07 | Good ol Abalache-Re, gotta love her for creating a powerful, stupid, machine of war that can continue to breed with itself and produce more. |
#5gilliard_derosanMay 30, 2005 12:44:19 | Good ol Abalache-Re, gotta love her for creating a powerful, stupid, machine of war that can continue to breed with itself and produce more. /blink. With itself? asexual half giants?? EEEEWWWWWWWWW just kidding. Heheh. And yes, to add another confirmation to the pot, Yes, Half Giants are fertile and reproduce with other half giants. It is Müls who are sterile and are bred by Dwarf/human matings. |
#6xlorepdarkhelm_dupMay 30, 2005 13:51:32 | The logistics of the alternative idea of breeding, short of assistance from wizardry, is at the very least disturbing. |
#7squidfur-May 30, 2005 21:00:11 | Nice, Xlor. And I'll add that, Yes, Half-giants can breed. :P |
#8dracochapelMay 30, 2005 22:30:44 | It would have to be giant woman and human male. the other way is just wrong (and probably impossible). Its hard enough for a female human to have a mul baby, and a half giant baby would be like twice as big. Wonder if the giant woman even notices :D |
#9PennarinMay 30, 2005 23:24:51 | This thread is turning weird fast. The male half-giant procreates with the female half-giant, and the female half-giant has a pregnancy followed by the birth of a baby half-giant. Half-giant is a race that was created through magic, they are not a magical race. The closest parallel to the nature of the half-giant is that of the dray: their nature is the same (magically created) and they both can procreate within their species. |
#10dracochapelMay 30, 2005 23:42:12 | Wonder what you get if a half-giant breeds with a human. a 50% chance of either a half-giant or human baby?? |
#11jon_oracle_of_athasMay 31, 2005 3:03:02 | You'd get a quarter-giant silly. :P Hah! I beat Dawn to it. |
#12SysaneMay 31, 2005 9:05:48 | Wonder what you get if a half-giant breeds with a human. a 50% chance of either a half-giant or human baby?? It actually states in the Wanderer's Journal that h-giants can't breed with humans. Thats if you were being serious :P |
#13dawnstealerMay 31, 2005 12:42:21 | Seeing as how everyone agrees on this (as do I), I'm going to take the other side and say that half-giants can't breed without the assistance of a dwelf. |
#14murkafMay 31, 2005 12:56:06 | Seeing as how everyone agrees on this (as do I), I'm going to take the other side and say that half-giants can't breed without the assistance of a dwelf. Disturbing images come to mind... What is the dwelf's role in this? No, don't answer that. |
#15dawnstealerMay 31, 2005 13:12:02 | The dwelf pushes. What? Too much information? |
#16xlorepdarkhelm_dupMay 31, 2005 13:18:44 | The dwelf pushes. Or does the dwelf pull? |
#17terminus_vortexaMay 31, 2005 13:48:05 | |
#18dawnstealerMay 31, 2005 13:52:39 | Maybe I should sketch this out? |
#19sekerMay 31, 2005 13:58:49 | Maybe I should sketch this out? please dont ..... please dont :OMG! |
#20murkafMay 31, 2005 14:08:19 | The dwelf pushes. So under Dwelf Ecology, it should be mentioned that they act as pimps for Half-Giants... And make themselves helpful in other manners best left unsketched. |
#21zombiegleemaxMay 31, 2005 21:41:31 | thanks for the reply guys , hehe dont get weird on my behalf... oops too late , was too late before i posted though i would imagine =) really just needed to know for background info for a community in a homebrew i am making, would have made them able to do it in my own stuff but wanted to know what the staple was here. |
#22dawnstealerMay 31, 2005 23:18:45 | Just remember that half-giants tend to immitate whatever's around them. So if there's a nearby community of (short-lived) thespians, the half-giants will tend to emulate that. If there is a nearby tribe of elves that live by raiding, there's a good bet the half-giants will follow suit. |
#23xlorepdarkhelm_dupJun 01, 2005 0:43:38 | Just remember that half-giants tend to immitate whatever's around them. So if there's a nearby community of (short-lived) thespians, the half-giants will tend to emulate that. If there is a nearby tribe of elves that live by raiding, there's a good bet the half-giants will follow suit. And more than actions, they emulate appearnce too. So, if there's a bunch of Thri-Kreen nearby, the HAlf-Giants could possibly be seen walking around with an amalgam of strung-together pieces of chitin, attempting to look more "kreen". If there's a nearby Dwarven villiage, they chould be shaving themselves bald all the time. |
#24dawnstealerJun 01, 2005 8:52:45 | Or if there's a pack of dwelfs (they travel in packs), the half-giants would be instantly transformed into newer, cooler selves. Why? Because dwelfs are, like, totally rad and junk. Duh. |
#25murkafJun 01, 2005 9:31:10 | Or if there's a pack of dwelfs (they travel in packs), the half-giants would be instantly transformed into newer, cooler selves. You mean newer, cooler pregnant selves. With all those dwelven pimps around, there is little chance that a mating would not produce offsrping. If you think of it hard enough, dwelfs are closely related to elarves (singular: elarf). |
#26dawnstealerJun 01, 2005 9:42:37 | Elarfs? That's just ridiculous. Seriously, you should be ashamed of yourself. |
#27jon_oracle_of_athasJun 01, 2005 12:59:12 | It actually states in the Wanderer's Journal that h-giants can't breed with humans. I wasn't. I'm well aware that half-giants can't breed with humans... nor dwelves. |
#28dawnstealerJun 01, 2005 13:42:06 | Or so the dwelfs would like you to think... :evillaugh |
#29dracochapelJun 02, 2005 2:47:18 | wonder if the mods could put dwelfs on the banned list along with all those naughty swear words (and any thread starting with the words "kalak champion or not?") :P |
#30elonarcJun 02, 2005 2:50:34 | (and any thread starting with the words "kalak champion or not?") I second that. |
#31jon_oracle_of_athasJun 02, 2005 4:06:50 | I dare you to play a dwelf in one of my campaigns, Dawn. I dare you. |
#32nytcrawlrJun 02, 2005 12:11:43 | It would have to be giant woman and human male. the other way is just wrong (and probably impossible). Its hard enough for a female human to have a mul baby, and a half giant baby would be like twice as big. See DracoChapel misses me. Only I have the twisted mindset enough to post something like this, so he missed me and posted this in my honor. Thank you DracoChapel. :D |
#33nytcrawlrJun 02, 2005 12:13:33 | The dwelf pushes. My virgin eyes! You guys love me, I know you do. |
#34murkafJun 02, 2005 12:14:59 |
You can put THAT in your résumé... :D |
#35nytcrawlrJun 02, 2005 12:17:44 | You can put THAT in your résumé... :D Too late, already there. :bounce: |
#36dracochapelJun 03, 2005 1:17:05 | Maybe you would have to send a dwelf in with a wetsuit and a divers helmet.Sir - I have spotted the egg - preparing to disseminate The previous statement was deleted by a Mod for been too icky. :D |
#37jon_oracle_of_athasJun 03, 2005 2:33:59 | I'm surprised the Wiz-o's havent moderated this thread. Those sick sick bastards. :P |
#38dawnstealerJun 03, 2005 9:30:57 | That's the great thing about an older crowd: we can say everything we need to through innuendo because we're all so smart. |
#39nytcrawlrJun 03, 2005 10:55:31 | Maybe you would have to send a dwelf in with a wetsuit and a divers helmet.Sir - I have spotted the egg - preparing to disseminate |
#40xlorepdarkhelm_dupJun 03, 2005 13:00:06 | That's the great thing about an older crowd: we can say everything we need to through innuendo because we're all so smart. Yea, but I'm sure this thread is running on a very, very thin line. |
#41elonarcJun 03, 2005 13:42:49 | Yea, but I'm sure this thread is running on a very, very thin line. ...says the guy who started the thread "Kalak champion or not". ... ... ... Speaking of which: GOTCHA! |
