#1balican_gigoloMay 31, 2005 22:01:06 | Is there any info on the palace in Draj? My high lvl players will be infiltrating Draj's palace in search for ancient books and scrolls. I want info though before I draw the map myself. |
#2pringlesMay 31, 2005 22:51:39 | look in the TSR book Veiled alliance and City state of Draj at www.athas.org |
#3PennarinJun 01, 2005 1:09:53 | Veiled Alliance is your best bet for info on the palace. Its pyramidal, has many levels, one of them given over housing the king and queen (now its a prison for former queen Tionaca, IIRC, check City-State of Draj to make sure), and is guarded by an obsidian guard, one of the fiew that still exist. |
#4jon_oracle_of_athasJun 01, 2005 1:17:51 | Also, make sure to check out City-State of Draj from athas.org. |
#5dawnstealerJun 01, 2005 8:54:21 | One of the things that I think's the most interesting about Draj, that's rarely remarked on, is the ruins that lie beyond it on the island. Draj is actually built on the mudflat: there's an island just beyond it that Tec outlawed everyone from going to. Man, I can think of fifty adventures right there. |
#6pringlesJun 01, 2005 13:18:48 | Where do they talk about this island and Tec forbidding people to go there? |
#7dawnstealerJun 01, 2005 13:43:29 | Think it's in either the Wanderer's Chronicle or the Wanderer's Journal. Might be in Veiled Alliance. |
#8balican_gigoloJun 01, 2005 19:57:53 | Is that the one that used to be a temple or something in the green age and now soldiers stationed there are disapearing? It's mentioned in city state of Draj. Some fort on the road that leads north east to the two Kurn and that other city. anyways thanks evryone, especially Pennarin. The location of Tionica. |
#9jon_oracle_of_athasJun 02, 2005 4:16:07 | Where do they talk about this island and Tec forbidding people to go there? As co-author of City-State of Draj, I'd like to know that too, since if that reference exists, its something I think we might have missed. |
#10squidfur-Jun 04, 2005 21:06:12 | Is that the one that used to be a temple or something in the green age and now soldiers stationed there are disapearing? It's mentioned in city state of Draj. Some fort on the road that leads north east to the two Kurn and that other city. And, as co-co-editor, this was something that particularly caught my eye. The entry in question is indeed from City-State of Draj. The reference concerns one Fort Ral and is on page 4 (in the last paragraph of the section on said fort). However, this is not the one Dawn's looking for. |
#11dawnstealerJun 04, 2005 21:37:05 | I can't remember where I read it, but I'm sure I did and I thought it was in a 2e book. Looking through my pile of books, though, I'm not seeing it. I could swear there were ruins on that island NE of Draj, and that Tec had forbade anyone to go there, even his templars. Am I crazy? |
#12squidfur-Jun 04, 2005 22:16:19 | Am I crazy? In a word - HORRIBLY :D As for your mysterious entry, just looked through both Veiled Alliance and The Wanderer's Chronicle, and NO DICE! As for The Wanderer's Journal, nothing to the North or East of Draj was covered, so I'm guessing it's not there either . Perhaps your thinking of something from a magazine article or fan site? |
#13dawnstealerJun 04, 2005 22:28:51 | Must be, but I could swear I read it on paper, and I don't print out web sites. Maybe it was just an idea I had? Man, turn 30 and your mind goes to hell. |
