Hello again,

Another call for help with my campaign.
This summer, I'll lead my group through *Caverns of Thracia*, set in the Steamwall Mountains, estimately leaving them at lvl 14 to 16.

They are advancing very quickly and have announced that they want to stick with the setting afterwards.
Now what do I do with a group of (hehehe) jerks that has just conquered an old Minotaurian Realm?

;) -Personally, I'd just let them go through just another module, but I don't know far too much adventures fitting for that level. Also, I want to avoid to intense dungeon-crawling. Can you recommend me any good d20 module that fits for this setting and starts at about lvl 15?

Thank you!

Price of Courage does, but I'm still writing it! Sorry it won't be out in time for your heroes to be ready for it, Ivid.

Cheers,

Why not get them involved in some highly involved political plot. I mean heck once you reach those levels you are pretty world renowned and it should'nt be hard to hook them in. Especially if you have Clerics, WoHS, or Knights.

Of course you said steamwall mountains which is on Taladas, right?

:P The darn circumstances... But be sure that my heroes will NEVER be ready for ANY adventure! (*When I said JERKS I meant JERKS... I'll have to post their best phrases here some time...* Last philosophical insight they had:

Me: *The Nightmaster takes you to her quarter.*

Player: *Nonono, I'll start having nightmares about my grandmother raping me again!*

And so they go all the time... :D )

However, I might check it out, although I am normally no 5th Age gamer... But I have come to understand the usefulness of *ready-to-run* campaigns... And the 5th Age story arc is really interesting, as far as I could experience so far...

Yes, I am one of the few remaining taladasian DMs out there. ;)

And one of my greater problems is that my group consists of 15 year old boys (the youth group I care for since they're 8 years... my babies!!!); who have proven to be unfit for any more complex task... *See above* :surrender

Any political struggle would either bring them to the League, or, more likely, to Thenol ("UNDEAD?! KEWL!"), but I personally would like it better to send them more northwards... And to find a good published adventure seems really diificult...

Do you have any of the other Taladas adventure modules? If so could'nt you just adjust them to reach the appropriate level?

That would be the last of all options, mainly because my players are actually Dark Knights. So, why should they act against their infernal queen? ... For every other group, I'd do so...

(Actually, the group has become one of Takhi's favourites, after helping Ariakan and company out of many troubles...)

Thank you!

there's loads of Fire Minions and demons/devils in the fire sea ... drop in some larger Fire Dragons (in bestiary of krynn).

nothing like dropping one into a sea of lava

With those adventures instead of having Takhisis being the deity behind the plot just change it to another deity. I am quite sure that Hiddukel could conceivably fool most mortals into thinking he was Takhisis.

And of courese Sargonnas hates being her consort even if it does sort of put him ahead of the other evil deities.

Thank you for these interesting suggestions...

Maybe I'll just use one of the Taladas adventures and change the outcome a bit... Look if I can handle Armach being conquered by a bunch of renegade knights... And then letting the renegades face chaos minions... Whatever... *brabble*

Where does it say that the KOT went to Taladas?

*Ariakan's Lorebook* is an unofficial, but extraordinarily well written book by James O'Rance. Since I switched from Ansalon to Taladas long after the old boxed set was oop, I don't even know if it was official.

In James' books, it was said that the dark knights had tried to invade Armach and then settled south, in the Fisheries.

Send them to Iraq on a peace mission-

Whoops! Wrong setting.

While I can't provide any module advice, I can (and will) reccomend that attempt to craft an adventure for them that forces each character to do something they aren't good at. For example, separate the group at one point and put each character in a position where they are forced to rely on skills or abilities that they aren't very good at (Make the Fighters undergo lots of Tumble, Use Rope, Balance, etc). Craft the scenario to each character and unite them at the end to give them a chance to use some innovative means to dispatch their foes.

Add a drop of lemon and stir.

Serve chilled with small, pink umbrellas floating within.

Adios!

If you like good campaign settings, you'll love this one!

I only hope that we see the promised (?) Taladas 3.5 update, because this setting has much more appeal to me than old Ansalon... ;)

Good to hear from you, great master Rooks! :D
And of course, thank you for the advice! It seems that the group is making their *sequel* themselves, since they will invest all their money in their bandit vault in the conquered lands! ;)

With all the books there, you can do a great campaign! I am DMing a Taladas game for years, and I don't even own the old box. (Which is a a shame, but it's too expensive for me!)

;)
