#1ruhl-than_sageJun 17, 2005 23:52:32 | Does anyone have any ideas for race specific Prestige Classes that they would like to see developed? I just thought I would start up a thread to generate some ideas. Here are a couple I had to get things started: Aarakocra: Ariel Master (a Ranger or Air Cleric oriented class perhaps that focuses on abilities related to flight) Halfling: Halfling Explorer (a class to showcase the halflings' interest in other cultures and traditions... not sure how this one would work) |

Some see nothing more then a lifetime of fighting ahead of them, and so these stoic warriors embrace their fate and become a living weapon- utilizing their bodies, weapons, and the very terrain they find themselves fighting in against their foes. Where gladiators fight for the money, glory, and perhaps freedom; a mul battle master has given up on such thoughts and decided to embrace whatever comes their way...and kill it if they can or die if they cannot! For something like this, I could see giving them extra bonus' for placement on the battlefield (like a +2 to attack when on the high ground) and/or reducing the penalties if they find themself at the receiving end. A huge bonus would be to give them a free tactical feat too. Any thoughts?? |

#4SysaneAug 03, 2005 7:09:34 | I'm working on DS racial substitution levels myself.No where near being done though. |
#5kalthandrixAug 03, 2005 7:54:48 | I would love to see the mul battle master idea come about- so if Sage does not want to tackel it then maybe I will do a write up on it. |
#6ruhl-than_sageAug 06, 2005 13:45:26 | It never generated good enough ideas |
#7zombiegleemaxAug 06, 2005 15:35:05 | Similar (but not the same as) the Aerial Master idea I've been playing around with ideas for a Winged Warrior PrC - something not specifically limited to Aarakocra, although they are the only standard player race that would qualify. This class would obviously focus on aerial combat, involving fun with charge/reach/ranged weapons, flyby attacks, and similar things it would be extremely enjoyable to be on the receiving end of. |
#8zombiegleemaxAug 06, 2005 19:08:17 | Being that the Dwarf is my favorite race how about a Dwarven Historian. The name doesnt sound great but it would be a character who searches for ancient dwarven sites and knowledge. He or she would use this to try to help the dwarven race on Athas. I think the Dwarven Focus would be very beneficial with this prestige class. I'll try to come up with something in writing about it. |
#9zombiegleemaxAug 06, 2005 21:40:56 | The name doesnt sound great... How about Runemaster? Anyhow, good idea, although I'll try to reserve judgment until I see the class writeup. |
#10zombiegleemaxAug 07, 2005 17:31:54 | It never generated good enough ideas I'm working on the Crysalid - a thri-kreen psionic class that allows permanent metamorphic changes. I just forgot to post it here |
#11lastardAug 08, 2005 5:56:25 | In our campaign we've got rogue life-shapers as a specific rhul-thaun prestige class. rogue life-shapers are the people who have been outcast from the current life-shaper society. They fight them and their practices as outlaws e.g. by uncovering 'dirty secrets' such as nasty parasites. Actually, the 'ordinary' life-shapers are the real rogues in our campaign, at least many of them... ah, conspiracies!! |
