Brute Man Magic
by HåvardI'm tinkering with a special kind of magic powers that Brute Men can learn.
This magic is an ancient primal force connected to elements, beasts, plants and spirits.
Powers include taming of megafauna, growing into the size of a neanderthal leader, etc.
This power requires rituals such as:
The Dance
The Hunt
Cave PaintingIn order to use such magic, the character must have access to a village of tents and caves and a number of villagers willing to assist.
The village tents and caves must be decorated with appropriate paintings, bones, furs, stones etc.
ADVANCED SPELLCASTERS
By the official rules, Brute-Men can advance to 4th level as Shamans (Clerics) or Wokans (magic users). One idea I had was that the DM could assign a bonus based on the quality of the Brute-Man village that would extend this level cap maybe as much as to 12th level if the village was expanded sufficiently enough by the PCs.
BEAST MASTERY
This would not be limited to Brute-Man spellcasters, but any Brute-Man with the animal empathy skill could be able to bond with special animals:
- Prehistoric mounts: This ability allows the Brute-Man to train and use creatures such as the Wooly Mamoth, Wooly Rhino, Grangeri etc as mounts or draft beasts.
- Prehistorical Protectors:This ability allows the Brute-Man to train and use creatures such as the Sabre-tooth Tiger, Cave Bear, Bekkah (See AC9) to protect them.
- Predator Bird: This ability allows the Brute-Man to train and use birds of prey and become so finely attuned to the creatures so that the bird will issue warnings, providing a bonus to Wis checks to notice things and bonuses to avoid being surprised.
