Framework for a new Mystaran Campaign
by DM NedleedsI have created, and continue to update a set of documents to help an aspiring dungeon master begin a fresh new campaign in Mystara, centered on the Grand Duchy of Karameikos. It sources canon material from the original books and modules, the fantastic work of the people here and at Vaults of Pandius and the fantastic inspirational 'Tales of Mystara' podcast by Tom.
The toolkit is intended to get the campaign up and running and then provide reasons to delve into the various B (and potentially X) modules. Similar to what In Search of Adventure attempted to do -- but hopefully better.
Warning: These documents contain detailed descriptions of violence, and present Mystara as a dark fantasy setting. Reader discretion is advised.
I provide the following:
A main guide with an 'In Media Res' situation (think Night's Dark Terror) to get the party engaged and moving.
Pre-generated characters of each class, with a quick use background handout for the player.

To use this you'll need at least red box BECMI, but RC is probably best. I use page references from RC, but most can be found in B or X (or Dark Dungeons).

FOR THE DUCHY!
Backwards Mistamere, this is a way to start a party captured in Mistamere.
The backwards approach has some pre-gens as well for quick play. One approach is to have the captured party be the caravan that was ambushed earlier than the one in the 'In Media Res' opening of the Jumpstart itself.
