Icefolk, or Niflings are a native race to Niflheim who have also spread to other ice based or water based planes or existence. They have founded their own kingdom on the Elemental Plane of Water. They can also sometimes be encountered in colder regions of Mystara. They are man sized and appear to be composed entirely out of ice. Niflings sometimes trade with Frost Giants and are sometimes at war with the larger giants.

Icefolk are slow and suffer a -1 penalty to initiative. If a Chieftain is present, their morale is increased to 12. When killed, a Nifling's body shatters into a million small shards, leaving behind a small blue heart shaped bright blue sapphire worth 1d10 GP. The most powerful Nifling Chieftains sometimes ride Niflheim Warhorses.
