Alternate WotI ending: full-scale Oard invasion of Alphatia

so the first attack would happen on the first Day without Magic, with Oard Shock Troops pouring in Sundsvall; they would have better AC (built-in armor), more magical resistance, more firepower, but lower utility tech. their initial arrival would cause a wave of destruction, but eventually they would be beaten back.
however, isolated units would still function as remnants or pockets throughout Alphatia. additionally, "normal" Oard squadrons would be popping randomly on Alphatia, as scouts for an invasion (because of time travel shenanigans, the Oard's perspective is that their scouts are sent first and the invasion afterwards, but people in the past experience it in reverse).
and then there are the scavengers, alphatian rebels who recycle oard tech and try to reverse engineer it, sometimes with success, sometimes with peril, hoping to overthrow their wizard masters. perhaps they unwittingly lay the foundation of the oard (like the terminator 1 arm & cpu).
all this, while zandor has a civil war going on in backwater provinces.
