Horses feature prominently in myth and legend, but there aren't really many fantasy takes on them in the classic D&D game. So here's one from Norse myth, sleipnir. The famed 8 legged horse of Odin. There are many creatures in D&D named for a single creature of course (Pegsasus, Medusa, etc.) so here's another.
More horses to come.

They are far more intelligent than others of horse kind, and neither require nor accept taming. They will, however, serve worthy, lawful characters who treat them well and who live up to an heroic ideal. They can be ridden, serve either as war horses, riding horses or draft horses.
They can pull twice the load of an ordinary draft hose (9000cn at normal speed, up to 18000cn at half speed), and their high intelligence makes them superb foragers, being able to exist on quite meagre foodstuffs for prolonged periods.
