Special Skills and Rituals for Clerics, Paladins, Druids and Shamans
by HåvardThe idea behind these rules is to adapt the rules for skills taught at the Great School of Magic from Gaz3: The Principalities of Glantri. However, I wanted to make something comparable for Clerics and other divine casters.
Requirements
- Must be of the classes Cleric, Paladin, Avenger, Druid, Druidic Knight, Shaman or Shamani. Note, some skills may be allowed for only some of these classes.
- In order to learn these skills, the character must spend time at one of the major temples and spiritual centres of Mystara. One week of intensive studies is required and a donation of at least 200 GP is expected.
Sample skills:
- Create Holy Water. Required: Must be able to cast bless.
- Bind Planar Servant: Use rules from Gaz3 for Conjure Companion, but this skill only allows summoning creatures such as the Familiar/Homuncilus (MMCA/AC9), Red/Blue Imps (Gaz3), Huptzeen (AC9), Aerial servants and others. Servant must be of the same alignment as the Cleric. Shamans can bind spirits using the same skill. Some of the weaker creatures on this page may be considered if the DM allows them.
- Summon Divine Mount
- Summon Divine Assistant: Summons a creature that can assist the Cleric in creating new magical items. Use rules for Manikins (Gaz3) when the assistant aids the Cleric in such work.
These rules are just a first draft. They will certainly need revision.
