- Urthad - Orc Warlord
- General Rurik Axethrower, Dwarven General from Rockhome
- Karthak the Indomitable, Dwarven Warrior
- Orros the Bloodyhanded, Dwarven Warrior from the Northern Reaches (in the book noted as from the "Northern Reach")
Thungrim, a dwarven smith from Rockhome, was abducted by Frost Giants who brought him to another world. After ecaping captivity, he returned to Rockhome, but Thungrim never told the stories of how he forged a legendary sword, his friendship with the Kanithiak Amunugathua or where he had been. But he taught his skills to a group of dwarves who began calling themselves the Deepstone Sentinels.
The Deepstone Sentinels came to prominence when a Rockhome Outpost was attacked by the Orc Warlord named Urthad. The Outpost was defended by the Rockhome IX legions under the command of General Rurik Axethrower. The Deepstone Sentinels helped turn the tide of the battle for the dwarves. Among their numbers were Orros the Bloodyhanded, a dwarf from the Northern Reaches and Karthak the Indomitable.
Karthak the Indomitable is a dwarf whose home was destroyed by a dragon and his demonic allies. Powerful magical items are still hidden deep beneath the rubble and the dragon is still searching for them.
Adaptation notes: Only General Rurik Axethrower is officially from Mystara (Rockhome). Orros is said to be from the Northern Reach, which could mean the Northern Reaches. The others are generic enough. I decided to make Thungrim a native to Mystara, but have most of his adventures take place elswehere (probably Eberron) since they involved Goliaths so much. Urthad and Karthak are fairly generic so they could fit anywhere, but it does make sense to keep them connected. See the OP for page numbers for these.
