Traldaran Names

The Traldarans are the native people that live within Karameikos. This land was called Tradara before the Thyatians renamed it. The Traldarans have a culture similar to dark ages of Transylvania and Maldavia, both of which contain many Eastern Central European cultures. Maldavia is known for the infamous Vlaad, the Impaler, otherwise known as Count Dracula; "dracula" is little-dragon, referring to the Knights of the Dragon, whom stood to defend against the Turkish incursions.

The female names are denoted by (f), and family names commonly end in -escu. A first name would never have an -escu. I'll put out a guide to describe how to go back and forth between family and given names later (and clean up the list as well).

An earlier Ravenloft publication have invaluable information detailing the culture of a fantasy-oriented Transylvania, title "A Guide to Transylvania". I highly recommend this book to get a feel for Traladara and the denizens that lurk beyond the shadows of the night... AEG also has a supplement as well dealing with this historical region.
