The Daughters of Aegir is an organization of female Merrow, Tritons and a few members from other undersea races who have been attacking ships all along the southern and eastern coast of the Known World, the Isle of Dawns, the Qeodhar and the Yannifey Islands.

According to myths, the Immortal Aegir (sometimes Hymir) of the Jotunns fathered Nine daughters with Kallalala of the Seven Veils, whom the norsemen call Rán . These daughters took the shapes of Undines and turned the seas into treacherous and deadly places where sailors could easily meet sudden death in the cold deep waters. It is said that Kallala cannot produce children in a natural manner, so the true origin of these creatures could covered in other secrets.

Regardless, the current organization believe themselves to be continuing the legends of the original Nine Daughters of the Waves. Their current leader is Hléra, a Merrow. The organization is openly hostile towards humans and other surface dwellers traversing the seas and seek wealth from plundering ships. They are believed to trade their stolen goods with Kna and other undersea races.

Their Stronghold, Aegir's Rock is protected by powerful Undines. Upon the rock, a fortress has been constructed. The fortress is partially submerged and easy to access by undersea creatures. Many of the stolen treasures of the group can be found here.

Notes:I am basing most of the legends of Aegir on Marco Dalmontes interpretation of Norse Mythology incorporated into Mystara in the Codex Immortalis where he aligned Aegir with Hymir and Ran with Kallala. The Sevel Daughters of Aegir and Rán are from Norse mythology.
