The Almas
by Marc SaindonWhile a section of Rockhome is a territory populated by Sasquatches, the name seems to be a bit of place between the more Germanic/Norse Dwarf culture and the Ethengarian Mongol expies. And with the Atruaghin being so far away and isolated on a plateau...
Yeti was at first an alternative for a name (which probably is used by the Ethangarians), although looking Russian folklore, you find a similar creature called the Almasty or Almas, also known to be fearsome yet elusive like Bigfoot.
The region probably stays warm in a special micro-climate due to thermal and volcanic activity, akin the Marvel's Savage Lands, although it should be populated with Ice Age era megafauna (Mammoths, Wooly rhinos, and so) rather than dinosaurs. In some aspects, it's like a "Hollow World" but in a single valley.
I suspect you could also add in Fae influence, although they would be the more primal type, who are mainly concerned with preserving the valley and its ecosystem (notably by keeping Orcs and Goblinoids out), like the Leshy of slavic myth, than playing the games of court and social graces. Maybe the region oddly flickers in and out of the Good Kingdom/Feywild as the mists rise and fall each day and return in the evening, and this instability keeps Dwarves from further exploring.
