The Böyg (pronounced [?bœ& #655;(?)]) appears as a large humanoid with the lower body of a serpent. Some say they are the offspring of the Midgard Serpent, or the cross between Great Giants and Linnorms.

In combat the slime secreted by the body of the creature gives it +2 to AC against melee attacks. Each round, the Böyg will attack with its two claws. Additionally, it will use its slimy serpentine lower body to block and obstruct one opponent. The target must make a Save vs. Death Ray or suffer the effects similar to Stun from the Weapon Mastery Rules. (Stun: A stunned character moves at 1/3 speed and cannot attack or cast spells. The character also has a +2 armor class penalty and a — 2 saving throw penalty.) This effect lasts for the duration of the next round. The effect is non magical and cannot be dispelled.

Böygs are natives to the Plane of Jotunheim, but can be encountered in the Northern Reaches or other parts of Mystara. The name means bend', 'twist' or 'curve'. They are often tasked by more powerful creatures or spellcasters to block entrances or paths taken by travellers. Böygs are intelligent and can speak common and Giant. They are often willing to speak and will try to convince opponents to turn around or give up their quests.

Fun fact: This creature appears in the fairy-tale of Per Gynt, the basis for Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt. As usual I have made some embelishments and changes to make it more suitable as a D&D monster.
