D&D 5.5 "Bastions" + Clearing Castle Caldwell

I've suggested a similar idea with fudging the rules on Dominions by giving players an indirect, early access to shared holdings with the help of the allied merchant Caldwell, after clearing the castle for him, as per mission. This gives a home base and a adventure hub.

With the updated rules, Castle Caldwell could serve as a logical to implant Bastion gameplay at this site. New facilities aren't built as much as cleaned, refurnished, renovated, restocked, which Caldwell allows as the PCs serve as his "Intendants", while the merchant oversees the players facilities during their absence to keep things running smoothly.
